Really like Webster coming off the bench. I hope he decides to stay other year.

Not sure how many games we win this year but Hoiberg is starting to put his stamp on the program. Getting Trey this year was huge. He’s arguably our most important player. Like we assumed, talent has been upgraded. This team at the very least will be very fun to watch.

That first turnover was obviously crap. And a couple others were forced on a 4th and long. But, the turnovers should not be a surprise. That and penalties have been a staple of Frost’s offense since he stepped foot in Lincoln. It no longer has anything to do with culture or talent, passing the buck to the previous staff is not possible anymore. It would appear there is not much development or coaching going on inside the program.

Looks like I was being kind on possibly going 2-6. Frost is a National punching bag nowadays.

That game would have been over before It started. Not sure if Frost ever has a winning season at NU.

Constant turnover is tough to deal with but...Frost ain’t it. It’s a shit show every Saturday. We are probably stuck with him a few more years but right now he makes Callahan and Riley look like Tom Osborne.

It’s looking like a 2-6 season in football if we are lucky so I hope bball can beat that. While last year was rough for the basketball team I never thought we had an issue with coaching or X’s and O’s We just didn’t have the horses. Football? Frost looks like he is in over his head.

Yep, it certainly is embarrassing. Under Frost the team is very rarely ready to play. The penalties and the turnover issues are a direct reflection of poor coaching. Mike Riley is long gone. Frost now has nothing to hide behind.

No more excuses for Frost. He is not the savior of the program we thought he was. We look so poorly coached it’s hard to watch.

He’s very Isaiah Roby’ish in that his game looks silky smooth for being that long but probably far more polished coming in to college. Going up against some tough company but with friends/family coupled with Hoiberg’s experience I think we have a good chance.

Hopefully this doesn’t bleed in to basketball. This team is going to need some non con games to jell.

Not what I heard....I’ve heard he told coaches he lost interest in playing basketball and wants to focus on the BLM movement. Could be BS. Guess we will see if he ends up anywhere. Unfortunate because he would have helped out quite a bit

I don’t think football is a high priority for JD. Seems like he was burned out. At this point it sounds pretty doubtful he will be returning. Hopefully we now have enough quality depth where Wandale can strictly play WR. Between him and Manning we should be fine at WR as long as they stay healthy.

He can really run the floor. That alone may get him playing time

Was looking forward to watching him vs the Huskers the next two years. I’ve always liked Okie St. Not a believer in the coach but they won’t be short on talent.

This is a pretty huge get. As I posted previously, I watched quite a few Pitt games last year and Trey is a A+ athlete who imo has a stroke that will really flourish under Hoiberg. He will be a very good fit in Hoiberg’s spaced offense.

Are you saying Hoiberg continuing to recruit other guards, more specifically...other guards that as of right now have more experience than Donovan...wasn’t a factor in his decision? If so, I can only assume you believe Donovan is a liar. So yes, based on his comments and the roster Hoiberg was wanting to assemble he was afraid of competition. Donovan basically said so himself...again, unless you think he is lying for some odd reason. Again, I’m not going to sit here and say Donovan is not some team player because I doubt that to be true. But to place all the blame on Hoiberg for his decommitment is pretty laughable considering Donovan’s words and actions after the fact.

I have no idea if Donovan is poor team player, Miles probably wouldn’t have recruited him if so. With that said, I do know what he said after he decommited. Multiple times bringing up how Nebraska is only wanting to go after JUCO’s and transfers going forward. To say that all Hoiberg had to do was show him a little attention doesnt sound to be the case. Now, had you said all Hoiberg had to do was stop recruiting other guards....then maybe you would have been on to something.

Please don’t mention this, Creighton fans would prefer to bash Hoiberg and Nebraska for throwing Williams to “the trash.” But when you ask why Mcdermott didn’t offer....silence.
