  1. Correct me if I'm wrong...our last FG was at the 8 minute mark? The refs didn't help but amazing we still won.
  2. Let's see if Miles decides to draw something up on the offensive end this half. Because thus far that was absolute dog crap.
  3. I would be happy going 4-2 in that stretch. I still don't feel very well about this teams chances in regards to winning on the road.
  4. Not sure what Kenpoms love obsession with Minnesota is.
  5. You have become a homer, Extreme. You must have missed some game action. I have no problem with arguing more minutes for Fuller, but to suggest that concern about his on-ball defense is just "crap" is reality avoidance at its finest. Fuller made a few mistakes against Rutgers...but it was not due to his lack of athleticism. I would chalk it up to his lack of getting quality minutes. I don't get to go to practice so I'm assuming the coaching staff knows what they are doing. But in the short time we have seen Fuller on the floor he looks like someone who could help this team.
  6. The difference was Kiminsky. Wiscy is a very good team and really, I didn't think we played all that bad. The good news is that even with a loss we gained 6 spots in the RPI.
  7. Not gunna settle for that just yet. Lot of season left... for everyone. If Illinois is still in the first 4 out on bracketology, we are certainly still in the hunt. We are in the hunt. A good majority of teams still are...we have 14 Big Ten games left. But, Illinois is 81 spots higher than us in the RPI right now.
  8. That's a big IF...a win tonight and I would say no. We currently are at #123 in the RPI. We have a long way to go in that regard. The losses to Creighton and Incarnate Word at home are killers. I think we need to win 11 regular season games again this year. That will be tough to do with how our schedule sets up.
  9. 15.5 now. Which IMO is probably about right. It's going to be a tough game for us tonight.
  10. Losing Rice is going to be a killer for them. He was having a great year. With that said...have you looked at their Big Ten schedule? They have an easy road even without Rice. Hill is a stud....Nunn can be dangerous. Outside of that, they do not have much on that team right now. No worse for them than losing Leslee and Moses was for us. And if he doesn't have much else on that team, he has only himself to blame. He ran off a bunch of guys when he first arrived and this is his third season, meaning he's had a full recruiting cycle plus to get in the players he thinks he needs. Illinois should be an easier place to recruit to than here and he's gotten the players he's wanted, so why should losing one guard be that devastating for them? I would agree with all of that except for comparing the loss of Rice to Leslee and Moses. Losing Rice would be akin to us losing Petteway. It would be UGLY. Rice was averaging 17 PTS and 6 boards a game shooting 51% from the field and 48% from 3 PT land. That's not something you can replace unless you are Kentucky or Duke. But, even with Rice I think they are just an okay team...probably an NCAA worthy team because of their easy Big Ten schedule. But without him, I'm not so sure.

  12. It certainly seems like something has changed. I wonder how much the absence of the bigs (Leslee/Moses) played a part. It's hard to play too aggressively when you know your team can't afford to have you in foul trouble. It's a catch 22 though, when your not playing aggressively you're not much help out there anyway. When watching the Rutgers game the announcers said something about how his dad had a talk with Walt about providing a more inside game. Can't imagine that did much because I'm sure Miles has been trying to pound this in his head since he arrived on campus. But, he is being more aggressive and looks much better than he did weeks ago.
  13. Solid win. Illini is a scrapy defensive team. Starting to get our MOJO back on defense and intensity.
  14. Whew. Thank you Tarin! We weren't even going to run anything that possession
  15. Shields has been pretty brutal on the offensive end this game. Need a better last 5 minutes out of him.
  16. Going to have to grind this our T. Both teams playing somid defense.
  17. Had a chance to really put the hurt on them but a couple bad turnovers killed some momentum. Hopefully the shots start to drop again.
  18. Doc's been gone for 3 years now. And he left NU on good terms. I hope he does well at So Miss. Krayton needs to worry about not being the worst team in their conference. Go back to your board.
  19. I do remember him dunking over someone on the team before he played an actual game. That got gave a few of us some warm fuzzy's. Other than that...the athleticism has not done much for him on the court in an actual game.
  20. Right now Word is projected to finish in the 130's RPI wise...Creighton in the 150's. That could change dramatically obviously.
