Tai and Nick and a word of caution
huskerbaseball13 replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Why is that? In just 11 and 13 minutes vs Iowa and Rutgers Fuller produced more than Tai has in the past what...6 games? Tai may be the better athlete of the two but in the short sample size I have seen Fuller appears to be the smarter basketball player right now. And more importantly...someone who can put the ball in the hoop from time to time or at the very least, make the defender guard him. -
Tai and Nick and a word of caution

Athlete refers to his athletic ability which I think everyone who watches sees that he has. No one said Tai is a superb basketball player at the moment. That is where the TO's, can't finish, ect. come into play. He is a good enough athlete to compete at this level I agree...I wouldn't call what he has superb though. JMO. He will get another chance to show what he has....I'm not so sure it has all to do with his confidence. I think some just boils down to his ability. -
What's up with Nick Fuller
huskerbaseball13 replied to *Deleted Account*'s topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I guess going off the last few games and Fullers/Websters minutes we can assume Miles now trust Fuller more than Webster and Fuller has more potential than Webster? On a serious note. I know some stated Fuller was dealing with turf toe earlier in the year and that probably limited him during practice. With that said, I like what I see so far. I don't think he's going to be a standout but he appears to be a savvy player. Also, his effort has been great. Not only this...but watching the past two games his guy has stayed glued to him. When Webster is on the court just about everybody knows he can't shoot so they sag off and clog the driving lanes. -
Rutgers (9-6) Vs. Nebraska (8-6) Game Thread

Pitchford! You are not good enough to act like you are tough! Terrible -
My guess is they beat Seton Hall on Saturday. But they won't win very much after that. Still not sure how we lost to them...they are turrrrrruble and I don't see them being a NCAA caliber team for the foreseeable future. There were a few calling for Mac's head on twitter...a few more losses and the rest will jump on board. As if they are North Carolina or something.

Nebraska isn't a good fit for Tai's skillset

I think he said "he's not ready yet." Could be wrong. Going off my crappy memory. -
Nebraska isn't a good fit for Tai's skillset

I take that back about Tai's last 61 minutes as being one of the worst droughts in a Husker basketball uniform. I forgot last year he finished off the season going 71 minutes without a bucket. I don't care who it is...Fuller, Tai whoever...we need better play out of the bench if at all possible. -

Ahhh okay, completely gloss over what I posted. Yes, and clearly Tai was SO much better than Benny Parker to start out the year last year. Fast forward to the now and Benny is doubling Tai's minutes. Tai may be a better prospect..again, I don't really know. We have not seen Fuller much. If so...maybe they both are gone next year? As if Tai is for sure the better prospect then Fuller does not have much hope because as it stands right now Tai is terrible. 2 points in his last 61 minutes on the floor? That has to be one of the worst offensive droughts in a Husker uniform. What exactly have you seen out of Tai to lead you believe he is a good prospect? Or is it that the few minutes Fuller has played you have deemed him such a bad prospect that Tai automatically is a better prospect? -

At this point last year Tai was averaging 27 minutes per game and Benny was averaging 13 per game. How did that work out for Tai? Now Benny is getting more than 30 minutes a game and I don't know if you have noticed...but Tai's minutes are going down. I don't know if Fuller is any better than Tai...but I don't think it's as simple as saying...welp...Tai is getting more minutes so obviously he's a better option. Unfortunately, neither is a real good option right now. I'm afraid you are correct. -

How often does a player RS in the middle of their college career? Not including transfers. No thanks...if Tai is going to stick around I don't think Miles wants to take the chance of holding on to his scholarship for three more years nor do I think Tai would agree to RS. Ray Gallegos did it. I'm sure there are a few more examples. It happens...not very often though. And there is a reason for that. Most players don't like to RS in the first place.....especially not a good who thinks he is eventually going to go pro like Tai does. And I would be surprised if Miles would go for it. 1. He would probably like to be able to use him next year if need be(if hes still in Lincoln)...and 2. Tai looks like a bust right now so I doubt Miles is wanting to tie up that scholarship another year. -

Because when you are a transfer you are forced to sit out that year. You don't get the option of playing. Coaches are recruiting you knowing full well they won't have you that following year. It's not very often a player within a program takes a RS halfway thru their career. Sure, its possible but I doubt Webster would go for it...and I doubt Miles would go for it. Thus far, Webster has not proven he can compete at this level...so why potentially hold on to that scholarship one year longer than you have to? And what...you don't think Webster is a role player at best? I have no idea on Fuller, we have not seen him enough. We have watched Tai plenty thus far....and he has been pretty bad. -
Not sure if it's accurate...but on another website a poster stated we have pulled our scholarship offer to Akoy.

There has been some good Aussie talent in the states. And reading up on McVeigh he knows how to put the ball in the hoop. If Terran goes pro it's to go overseas. I don't see him getting drafted at this point.

We have room right now....we won't when the recruits show up. Thus if Akoy is N someone will be leaving the program.

A Closer Look at the Season-Long Box Score
huskerbaseball13 replied to HuskerActuary's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
You are a piece of work. Good luck with DePaul tonight. The guy is a terrible troll. Sad life he lives. As if he didn't think anyone would notice once NU starting bringing in top recruits he vanished. It will be no different once NU starts seeing some positives again. He will be gone like a fart in the wind. -

huskerbaseball13 replied to Some_Fulla's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Yeahhhh...noooooo....you weren't right. You may be right that Webster needs to transfer. For the betterment of the program. But when you say Miles has mis-used Webster it makes you sound very trollish. There is no right way to use a guy who can't shoot or dribble. He's just not very good. -
At the end of the day...either Fuller or Tai need to be getting some minutes. Tai has had his chance and honestly he looks like a borderline D-1 basketball player. Fuller may not be much better in the long run this year but I'd like to see him get a chance. In his first 3 minutes of the game he equaled Websters offensive output in the last 5 games.
