  1. Gonna be such a blow if cope n palmer come back but roby leaves. In all likelihood roby will receive a higher grade than both palmer and Copeland and may get late first round consideration
  2. Don’t forget free publicity, a main thing one and dones get to do is create an image or any prospect that leaves early for that matter. The G-league will do none of that not to mention the lack of development you will currently receive in the G-league. You would have to be a pretty rabid fan to even get G-league games on tv to boot
  3. Totally agree @hhcdimes the way miles does it is about the best way I can see doing it. Getting a top 60ish class then sprinkle in a few high level transfers here n there. He just needs to start hitting on a few more high school guys as far as “fillers” they don’t need to be stars. Really excited to see what Thomas Allen brings next year, hope he gains 15 or so pounds of muscle then I can see him starting at the 2 and hitting close to 40 percent from 3 and hitting 85 plus from the charity line. Thor and NaNa are total wild cards as of now too
  4. If Nebraska could ever get into the top 40 nationally when it comes to recruiting on a yearly basis we should party on 72nd n dodge. With the geographic problems population wise and the issue of adidas being our main sponsor it would take an awful impressive coach to get it done
  5. Ya Minnesota’s class is pretty good coming in and between Murphy curry n Washington they got some skill coming back but if you ever check out a Minnesota bloggers board they are more down on petinos roster development than some of “us” are on miles
  6. @49r Purdue has significant pieces to replace but I think Edwards comes back for one more year along w harms and the Dartmouth transfer they just got puts them at the top of the preseason BIG rankings. It will be the likes of Maryland Michigan MSU up there, Wisconsin should be much improved as well. Minnesota has serious roster issues but has two good bigs and that freshmen point coming back, northwestern I believe has to replace 3 or 4 top players. Iowa has a lot of pieces but would take a big blow if Cook stays in the draft. Nebraska would be far from a favorite to win the league it just seems like a lot of other clubs are loosing key underclassmam pieces. Heck Illinois and Rutgers both might be worse than they were this year
  7. With Carr leaving penn st, bates-diop leaving Ohio st, bridges n Jackson jr and possibly ward leaving MSU, Jackson from maryland, and the likely departure of Wagner from Michigan. The stars may be aligning if we can get cope or palmer or both back. You gotta feel for penn st fans though. Can’t cut bait from chambers after the NIT run but just lost the straw the stirs the drink
  8. An average player makes 60-80k overseas. Not a terrible living but far from spectacular. G-league guys make 20-30k I think, not sure how the new 2 way deals work
  9. Thanks verde had some dam good players
  10. Montverde playing on ESPN right now. Haven’t seen Davis yet
  11. Sure seems like a lot of quality guys out there transferring already, hope old miles can reel us in another good one
  12. Just depends how you view the game mcveigh was a hell of a guy, but not a big ten basketball player. He was a streaky shooter at best and a huge liability at worst. We lack some height for now but I’m confident we will fill the void w another player or through more creative lineups if both cope n James leave. Mcveigh didn’t really fit any position on defense( wasn’t quick enough And never bulked up enough to play in the post )
  13. Be interesting to see in the next week to week n a half if anyone else jumps ship, I’ll be quite pleased if we can bring everyone back plus one or both of James or cope to see what next year could be. Mcveighs scholarship is quite crucial at this point too, hopefully get a big time transfer that has to sit out next year or luck into a graduate big guy.
  14. Ya I don’t think you understand what recruiting is about. It doesn’t really matter how smart the kid is, if everyone tells him that miles is on the chopping block and miles has no proof that he isn’t then that’s the definition of negative recruiting. That would hold no water if he gets a 2-5 year extension. No mater what miles has to win next year. Does he have to win 22 games again no but he’s gotta win and be in the conversation at the end of the year again
  15. This is the one thing you can not do. Might as well not fill those 4 or 5 scholarships next year if we just let miles play out his current contract because we will have no chance of getting the type of talent we want when recruits think miles is on the hot seat after putting up the best season in the last decade
  16. Probably wouldn’t let his goat into a game....
  17. For what it’s worth this Herman guy somehow always knows things before they happen. I’ve heard some back alley chats that Altman declined the offer which you can’t really blame him for doing if true
  18. Depends what you call special. I’d say 20 wins and meaningful late February games is pretty special, I’d sign up for that year in and year out if we could. Also there a chance next year that we could win less games but it could be considered a better season. It really just all all comes down to expectations. As long as we are bringing in exciting recruits( the 3 current ones all seem to have a shock n awe to them IMO ) and we pack the vault every home game I tend to believe the on court stuff will take care of itself. Heck if miles incorporates some form of offense into the offense then we won’t have anything to complain about on this forum. Then what are we all gonna do?
  19. Iowa should have multiple transfers too, they have like 6 4/5 guys who could all play significant roles elsewhere.
  20. Sure sounds like Illinois is gonna have a lot of roster turnover
  21. I’m guessing he’s going oversees to play rather than transferring to another school but I could be wrong. It’s another open scholarship atleast
  22. You gotta extend him n you gotta make it so he has a 4 or 5 year deal weather it’s a whole new contract or just an extension. hopes for next year should be high, I have my sights set on the school record for wins in the regular season alone but I don’t get all the talk that we are in trouble after cope palmer n glen leave. The cupboards will be far from bear and with 4 or 5 open scholarships next year my sights are set on a top 25 recruiting class similar to the class of 2015 rankings wise. when your a program like Nebraska it’s all about stability, n if we reup with miles I believe in 5 years we will be beyond pleased with the state of the program.
  23. We need to Start a deandre Ayton type slush fund. 10,000 fans chip in 10 bucks n we are in business
  24. Tough end to a pretty magical month n a half as a fan. effort was pretty lack luster tonight, jordys gotta learn to finish dunks n lay ups my god, and redic amount of three point shots when we don’t shoot it well from the normal distance. im a pretty big Miles supporter but am pretty disappointed w tonight’s game. They showed alil offense from time to time w glen getting into the lane but defensive game plan was poo. There point could shake n bake us whenever he wanted to off the dribble n the lack of zone defense was quite frankly maddening, probably the only time all year I’ve had issues w coaching outside of the penn st debacle. w all that being said I am pumped for the home stretch of recruiting and am looking forward to a loaded roster next year. A thanks to all that make this site and blog what it is, I check it atleast 5 times a day since becoming part of it. Love the opinions and the feedback even to the guy who says cope is good on the boards
  25. Hip not knee my bad
