In my alternate reality, we will likely be playing 5 days in a row during the Big 10 tournament so I would not be opposed to a trial run during the season.

Well sir, you are clearly looking at this with a glass half empty. A 3+ week lossless streak is nothing to sneeze at!

We haven't lost in almost a week and a half and I'm guessing we will extend this run to 3+ weeks. So, maybe this becomes relevant to us at some point.

Actually, if you remove human emotion and just crunch numbers, it's not surprising at all that a computer is more accurate than humans who cannot detach themselves from fandom and koolaid! -
Ok, after letting my negativity subside for a night, I woke up looking for some positives and silver lining's from last nights game. Hopefully this brings you some optimism as well: 1) We started the 2nd half on a 3-0 run 2) We only missed 6 free throws 3) Andre had a perfect night of shooting 4) Lat made a three 5) 2020 ends in under 18 hours

Keeping Up with Old Friends (The Transferred Thread)

Good for Dachon. I have a lot of respect for anyone that takes the risk of running their own business. Below is a link to his website. It's not my style but I am 100% certain I am not part of his target audience . Best of luck to the young man and I hope this is a successful endeavor for him! https://www.dburkearchives.com/products -
It's just an Idea, I don't think that is the problem either. It must just be part of the Husker jinx. Yeah, that's as good of an explanation as anything. Here is last year's road vs. home stats: Home - 223 out of 390 - 57.2% Road - 129 out of 194 - 66.5% Total - 352 out of 584 - 60.2% We have just been inept and something we are doing is making our current year free throw shooters worse. It's got to be mental or a jink or the basketball gods still haunting us for selling our soul to the devil in 2014. Whatever it is, it's going to limit this team's ceiling, which may not be all that high in a tough Big 10 anyways.

I don't think that's it. If my math is right, we've shot 22 for 39 on the road at Creighton/Wisconsin for a 56.4% clip and 100 for 149 at home for a 67.1% clip. Both are awful!

I watch every game and just shake my head at our consistently horrid free throw shooting. While our talent is improved over last year and I believe we have the horses to compete on most nights, we continue to make our basketball lives far harder than it needs to by being just a horrible free throw shooting team. Why is that? Do we not practice enough at it? Is it all mental? Anytime Fred talks about it, he emphasizes that the kids are getting the work in and putting in extra work, so what gives? Good or adequate free throw shooters transfer in and become worse at it here. Is the Big 10 FT line at 14' 10" and this is some sort of inside joke that the BIG never informed Nebraska of? I just don't get it. I expected Teddy to be in the 85% - 90% range based on how he shot last year. He's almost an automatic 1 out of 2 each trip. And, he's not alone in the struggles. Look at these examples Dalano is the only one to show improvement and the rest have not just gotten worse but drastically worse. We're 8 games in so perhaps this is too small of a sample size but man, this seems like an ongoing trend over the last few years. I use to think it was a conditioning thing and guys didn't have the legs. BUT, we don't discriminate when we miss free throws. We miss at the beginning of games, at the end of games and basically at any juncture in a game when we go to the line. When we do go to the free throw line, I'm mentally preparing myself for a 1 out of 2. You know what Wisconsin did last night at the free throw line...15 for 15. Us...9-17. The difference between us and Wisconsin last night wasn't that great. We pass the eye test talent wise most night. I've concluded that the issue has be be mostly mental at this point and the difference between us and most teams appear to be between the eyeballs. Make a few open threes and hit a representative amount of free throws and our competitive losses become wins. Curious if anyone else has theories.

If I tell you the over/under for nut punches is 0.5, do you take the over or the under? Also, thanks for the great overview!

Doane (5-9) Vs. Nebraska (3-2) Game Thread

"Showdown" seems a little misleading. I would have gone with "smackdown", "beatdown", "bludgeoning" or "annihilation" but no one has ever given me the keys to a largely viewed social media platform and probably for good reason. I just hope everyone leaves the game healthy and gets some good game experience! -
