  1. Uh, he didn't quit. In any sense of the word. ( And you created the diversion, so you might want to avoid bitching about any diversion.
  2. Well, that joke might not have gone over as I had hoped. Win some you lose some...as we all know when it comes to recruiting...and basketball...and life...and joke telling. Carry on. Actually, it was pretty funny. Well played (now that it is crystal clear you were joking)
  3. That might just be the worst post in the history of this board. Callahan had disdain for Nebraska and Nebraskans, and you praise him. He refused to even wear anything with Husker colors his last 2 months. He made more than Doc, and at the end just wanted to show off his offense no matter how bad we got beat. His own ego ruled as he swirled down the drain. Doc was completely opposite--competed like crazy and kept trying to the bitter end. I agreed with Dr. Tom's decision to make a change at that point, but it wasn't about lack of effort. You must not have been at any of the practices I went to. Doc never quit, and it's a pathetic cheap shot to suggest he did.
  4. That's cool; glad to hear this. Loved watching Bernard. BJ is a good athlete; good football player also. I've watched him a bit. Power forward game with 2 guard height. I guess that's why they call them walkons. Best of luck to MJ.
  5. Just to clarify, bball 23, I wasn't complaining, I was responding to the post that was complaining. I couldn't be happier with where we are in year 2 of the Miles era. Have to pinch myself sometimes just to make sure it's really happening. But even Miles publically acknowledged that the biggest challenge he has faced so far, and has found harder than he expected, was recruiting. It is just a challenge here. But I love how we are facing the challenge and making progress. For now, we will still have to "recruit" vs. "select".
  6. Careful. Now that's some funny stuff right there Norm. Post of the Week. (and in a one word post; not exactly your style!)
  7. It's hard to recruit here. Anyone who thinks it isn't is fooling themselves.
  8. I was interested also. Coach Sunny made somewhere around $182,000 here as the associate head coach. In comparison (if you can find any comparison) I found a state government file where the base salaries for Boise Head coach Gordon Presnell in 2012 was $180,007. The assistant coach that Coach Smallwood is taking over for was making $60,008. Hmmm....something very strange going on....
  9. His deal had no offset for any subsequently earned income.
  10. Awesome stuff, Dirrk. My own daughter of roughly the same age can catch fish like no one else, but I can't get her to hunt, for some reason. Thought the hunting dog would get it done, but even that didn't work. I have access to excellent deer and waterfowl hunting close to Lincoln....but don't want to break any NCAA rules.....
  11. I had a little hope after that game, but the season completely went to crap.
  12. Them brothers both going juco. Aint D1 eligible right now. Keep an eye on 'em doe as we could be looking at dem again in 2 yrs as long as Miles aint been turned off on Omaha kids after dis yr. Sideburns Jones, is that you?
  13. Might depend if he (Miles) has anyone to move on with...
  14. Congrats Doc, and good luck at Southern Miss. Would be great to schedule a game with those guys in Lincoln
  15. That's a nice looking over-under. We have some places to use that close to Lincoln!
  16. And that boy named Sue
  17. Is that even doable this late in the ballgame? That's a heck of lot of credits to amass by next August. Assuming she counts second semester classes, yes. I passed 23 the last semester to graduate, and I was fat drunk and stupid. With all the summer sessions it can be done without too many heroics.
  18. My question is how did IU & PU miss on her or was she just not interested in them. But Hopeful she can add some punch and depth to go with iot. From what I have heard is that the first JC she was at (Broward College in Florida) really jerked her around and had her taking underwater basketweaving type classes. In the article it said she wants to pursue a career in Pharmacology- "jock" classes will not get to where she wants to go in life. So she moved on from Broward to Vincennes. At Vincennes she has had a lot of work to make up to be able to move on to NCAA next year. I don't know if this is 100% correct but she had like 28 credits to take in this current spring semester and this summer to be able to qualify. I can see schools just not wasting their time on someone that has so much work to do to be able to qualify. Maybe PU is set at that position? I see at least IU had her in and was interested- obviously she was not interested in them. Great info; thanks
  19. Hope he doesn't mind bad weather. Sucks in Lincoln today, for sure.
  20. This tweets timing proves Robin reads this board. We appreciate ya Robin. Beer proves that God loves us and wants us to be happy. Oh wait....sorry for my free associating...
  21. Wow. Big loss. I thought if we lost Sunny, it would be for a head coaching job. Presnell is around 53, not much older than Yori. So it's hard to see this job has a better or quicker chance to become a head coach. The alma mater thing alone wouldn't seem to indicate a lateral movement. Will be interesting to hear her salary--we were paying her substantial bucks and increasing that would be a huge commitment for Boise State.
  22. I would be in interested in knowing what offers Kalenta had. Her recruiting seemed completely under the radar. Did we get her to be a serviceable post defender, to plug in until Washington develops and/or Shepard gets here? Or is she a really good player who just by some miracle happened to be available? This one is interesting.
  23. Not unlike how I like my women!
  24. GTFO, troll. We're not the ones posting on the message board of another team... Go back to your Creighton site to talk about your mid-major newBigEast basketball team and worry about how the teams in the Big Least Conference are going to fall even further behind the big boys, now that the NCAA is going to remove financial restrictions, which will allow the power conferences to spend what they can afford to spend on athletics... If you're going to take the time to blast someone, make sure you do your homework. Dude's name is "Central". He typically posts about Central kids and has been nothing but pro-Huskers on this board. Why is it his fault if you guys read Creighton boards and get pissed about it? Seems like he has a pretty good point. I have never read a Creighton board in my life--I just read Norm! (But I agree Central is just fine (as long as he isn't competing in a spelling bee))
