  1. I look in the mirror at least once a day.
  2. I think the extra year is a pretty long shot. My understanding of the rule is that the threshold is 30% of the season in D1. Louisville would need to play 34 games for him to get under that. That's obviously not going to happen. If only he'd have gotten hurt one game sooner... Would think our chances of landing Tshminga are better if Mathiang can only play one year.
  3. So...desperate...to get...difference making...center. Willing...to believe...any....rumor.....
  4. At times, Ed was a beast on the blocks tonight. I want to see us look for him more often next year. Gotta feed the beast.
  5. Curious, do we know who we got for the B1G/ACC Challenge next year?
  6. I'm not really disagreeing with anything you stated....but at what point is it okay again to expect this team/program to take the next step? If not next year when White is a senior, addition of Gill, and another year with the you guys...then when? It will become harder and harder for Miles to recruit to this program when we are stuck at the bottom of the league and not competing for the big dance. I don't think any really envisioned this particular team to be in the hunt for an at large...but we need to get to that point sooner rather than later. Next year would be a good start. It's a legit question, because you're right, the longer we go with subpar conference records and barely .500 overall, the harder it will be to continue to recruit the caliber of players we've been recruiting (or hope to recruit). While it definitely feels like we're building something, a foundation as Buglem suggests, the trouble w/ building in college sports is players graduate, or leave. So it's not just that Miles has to land a good corps of recruits, he has to start winning with them, or potential future high level recruits will start drying up. So agree that it needs to start happening. All that said, I'm always leery making the claim/stance, however, that "next year has to be the year or else." That puts a lot of pressure on just one year, when a lot of factors can be involved in a not so successful season. I do feel real good about the players coming back next year, and if we can get decent center, let's say Tshimanga, I'm really going to be optimistic. But dang, even then he'll just be a true freshman, so how much can we truly benefit from him? [sigh] As you can see, I worry a lot.....
  7. I'm listening to Kent P., not watching TV. So, if I understand it correctly, they are doing play by play from some studio? Weird.
  8. I mean that's basically it, IMO. "Hey, you little fourth year coach of a bottom half team in the Big Ten, you haven't earned your chops yet to yell at me even 1/4 the same way Thad Matta, et al does. Here's a T for you." It's B.S., but I think that's the zebra mentality.
  9. Check out his block at :58; Were they playing a junior high team? He certainly looks athletic. Certainly knows what to do with the ball when he gets it point blank. Probably doesn't have a "back to the basket" move as such. But man I really like the athleticism.
  10. Ahh, sports fails.
  11. You know, sometimes games like this happen. Both teams are better offensively than this. I don't know what the cause is, wheither it is both teams are competing so hard on defense, or if it is a mentally contageous thing. But I'm seeing people critical of of our offense today, and all I can say is yeah, the shooting precentage sucked, but look how many 2nd chance opportunities we had because of out hustling OSU to the offensive rebound, or getting steals? I haven't seen the stats, but I'll wager we had a lot more possessions than OSU. This is why, as poor as we shot the ball, we almost won, against a team that certainly has the edge on us atheletically. It's one of the things I like about this team. Despite poor shooting or injuries, we're trying to find other ways to keep us in games and maybe even get us some wins. I thought Tai Webster today was just brilliant, and when he fouled out I said if this goes into overtime, I don't think we'll win. Of course I didn't account for the fact that in the last 10 seconds of the game it all of the sudden became legal to grab the player with the ball by the arm and literally pull him back in order to prevent him from shooting.
  12. Can someone post a screen shot of Watson being held by the arm as he was about to take the shot at the end of regulation?
  13. Every team is going to guard Drew tight. Obviously Indiana was more successful than Penn St. Without Shields it's doubly hard to get him shots. I assume Miles was trying to run actions for him, but it seems Indiana studied their films well.
  14. Yeah, we'd never do that.
  15. Jack, you can't give up the baseline like that.
  16. I wanna see these kids play with some pride now. This sucker's probably in the books, but g-d it, let's make a run and make Indiana sweat a little. Starts with some defensive stops.
  17. Dammit. 11-2 out of the half. 2 missed open 3's.
  18. Home cooking. They've made 11 FT's, we've only attempted 4.
  19. We played so good for about 17 minutes.
