Correct me if I'm wrong (the COVID and transfer changes make me forget who sat out when) but that's 2 third-year starters in Derrick and Lat 2 fifth-year starters in Trey and Sam (counting Pitt and NDSU) 1 guy who played starter's minutes in CJ To me, it feels like for the first time since Fred's been here that the team will actually be somewhat old.

Old friends alert crossover. Kenya Hunter's kid. Was surprised to see he averaged 9 pts, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds a game this season. -
I will not tolerate any Andre Almeida slander on this board!

That might be because this is a basketball message board in 2022 and not a football message board in 2017.

Bryce McGowens's Legacy
Shawn Eichorst's Toupee replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
As a Nebraska Basketball fan, I hope he stays. But if he's working out with teams, and someone said, we're taking you in the first round, I'd tell him to go and make some money. If he flames out of the NBA, he's still could make a lot of money playing overseas and come back and get his degree later. -
The part that bothers me is how Bryce won it 8 weeks versus Branham's 3. Why does the criteria change for weekly compared to the yearly award?

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Where did the media come into all this?? Also, I don't really see where anyone was forced to do anything here. Fred has a choice to retain or remove any coaches, and retain or change any part of his scheme/approach. And if Fred doesn't want to make any changes, he doesn't have to. Just like Trev and the athletic department aren't forced to fire, retain, or restructure Fred's contract. Everyone in the process is an adult with critical thinking skills, who made decisions based on (IMO) what they think the best path forward is.

Huskers (7-20) vs Hawkeyes (19-8) game thread

Because I was trying to find literally any reason that I might watch the game on Friday with hope in my heart. But instead I'm just the biggest dummy this board has ever seen :( -
Huskers (7-20) vs Hawkeyes (19-8) game thread

Slow and painful march to an inevitable firing at the end of the season? Final home game of the season against Iowa? A lack of recruiting success and a coach with some questionable coaching philosophies? I've seen how this one ends before -
I'm not sure I understand your response. I interpreted the comment that I quoted as you believing multiple was being incorrectly defined. And I was being pedantic and letting you know that multiple was being correctly defined. Sooo where does Mike Riley come into play and what does that have to do with the price of rice in Asia?
-
Well... If one = single and two = multiple, then yes.

At this point, there's like 6 different threads like this. Can we all just collectively agree to post it in one thread so I can mark it as read and save my sanity? -

Jon Nyatawa is leaving the World Herald. I know he didn't do much with Nebraska Basketball, but I enjoyed the brief podcast series he and Chris Heady did. -
Did you know he used to play football at Cincinnati??

Except that's not political, that's just science...

I hate to bring this back around to Tim, buuuuuut it did seem like Tim started figuring it out towards the end. 2018 - Brady Heiman 2019 - Akol Arop 2020 - Donovan Williams 2021 - Chucky Hepburn He got 2 of the better in-state players to commit and seems like he had a real shot at 2 others. With as much trouble as Nebraska has had at finding people to stay in the program, seems like there's a definite value in finding a local kid every year who will come in and provide some continuity year after year even if they aren't going to be an immediate starter.

Where We Stand (NCAA Stats)

Didn't realize they were so high in free throws made and attempted. Did some quick math. In losses, they've averaged 11/15 versus 19/26 in wins. I know it's not this simple but an extra 8 points at the line in the 4 losses and that turns into 2 wins and a tie with Creighton. Also feels like you can live with -7 rebounding margin when you are +5 in turnover margin. Of course, Big Ten play will definitely drive those numbers lower, so probably not sustainable come conference time. (finished with -0.9 last year, 2.0 in Fred's first year, and 3.5 in Tim's last year).
