  1. Couple thoughts: If someone is sick with the flu, but continues going about their business without any regard to how it might impact others, then absolutely they deserve criticism. It's also valid to criticize the capitalist system in place that makes people feel obligated to work when they're sick due to a lack of guaranteed benefits/not enough sick days. Did Fred *really* need to be on the bench to coach a 7-win team in the play-in round of the Big Ten tournament? Nebraska could've forfeited the game and the sun still would have come up this morning. Also, schools and businesses across the country are shutting down the non-essential in-person stuff and moving everything online as possible to try and limit the spread of infection.
  2. Productive at fouling, for sure. He's sitting at 9.4 fouls per 40min.
  3. Can we all just please agree to stop using the phrase "if he redshirts"? The only players who redshirt in basketball are walk-ons and dudes who just transferred and are ineligible. If Arop or Yvan or are redshirting next year, it's not going to be for the Huskers.
  4. Notched a triple-double tonight with 22/10/10. Caught some of the game and he's a smooth operator.
  5. Not convinced Doc's system is going to work long-term. He's all about packing it in, limiting points in the paint, and making teams win by making a lot of 3s. Indiana isn't great at 3pt shooting (#209 in the nation at 32%) and they didn't buck that trend last night (5-25 for 20%). So in this particular match-up, it worked well. Hopefully that continues throughout this season and the rest of Doc's tenure here, but I'm not willing to bet on it yet.
  6. If you told me Nebraska is going to win only 1 game each year, I'd pick the Creighton game 11 out of 10 times.
  7. OWH says she also was considering Butler, Wichita State, Illinois State and Denver. Not exactly a Who's Who list.
  8. Millard North is going to be stacked - both talent and height wise. Sautter thinks their starting lineup will go 6-9, 6-7, 6-7, 6-5 and 6-4. https://www.omaha.com/neprepzone/recruiting/plus/sautter-jadin-johnson-a---point-guard-adds-even/article_894bf8b3-425d-5767-a2e7-fc04ca0c49bc.html
  9. Nebraska made Hugley's Top 12 last week. Can't say that carries a lot of weight as far as Fred's interest, but John must still be somewhat interested. https://twitter.com/thejohnhugley/status/1153454944042831873
  10. I would also argue Washington got more press because it came right on the heels of his child porn/revenge porn case.

  13. I've never understood why men's college basketball goes with 2 halves. It's different than literally every other version of basketball played.
  14. I also am curious as to the timing on Brady's decision. The OWH quoted Brady as saying Fred told him an hour before his accounting final. That seems pretty unnecessary and where my biggest beef is. If true, what's the harm in waiting 3 more hours? Or doing it a week ago? Or doing it on Friday after finals are done? I'm all for upgrading talent. I'd like it to be done with a little bit of empathy.
  15. Trusting what he's doing and agreeing with how he's doing it are two very different things, and I think that's why there's been pushback.
  16. Sure. Transferring is part of the game now. There's enough transfers in the portal to field 50-some teams. I would argue that Nebraska gained more through the transfers than they've lost. Outside of Andrew White and Michael Jacobson, can you think of any impact players that have left?
