  1. His goal is Duke. Don't know if he'll get that, but going to Link will definitely get him some more national recognition. That academy has a good amount of studs come out of that program as of late. Especially to play for schools in the south.
  2. Heard rumblings of him doing this earlier this week. Family looking to raise his stock/get better offers.
  3. Whoever that was on the radio I think is mistaken. I don't think the committee is really counting road games against Depaul and Georgetown at this point. The top 9 teams in the Big East just create more opportunities for high quality wins this year, which is keeping all their bubble teams alive. They actually did have games that went down to the wire or were somewhat in question against South Carolina and Northwestern early in the year. I have no idea how.
  4. I think it’s a combination of this as well as the pace of play and way games are called in the B1G. I feel like the B1G calls fouls for too many things and it drags games out, and a lot of times calling stuff that’s just flat out not a foul (Purdue especially). Just a lot of anticipated foul whistle blowing rather than an actual foul. They all get used to playing that way for 3 months then get to the tourney and get some refs where nothings being called and it’s tough to adjust to. It’s the reason I think all Purdue needs to do is run into the ref crew that isn’t calling fouls on Edey and is letting guards get into their guards and it could be trouble. Being the darling of the conference they’ve been getting every call in league since December.
  5. This kind of mentality is just natural with fans in a football-first school I think. Making fun of basketball is acceptable because it's not football. When basketball is good, they'll jump aboard. When they're bad, they'll joke about it and brush it off, because there's no real investment like there is with football. All of my friends out in Holdrege are kinda wired like this. It just comes with the territory when football pays the bills and you're not a basketball blue blood. And it's not specific to just us. Georgia basketball is mediocre to bad. When they're good fans jump aboard. When they're bad fans joke and brush it off.
  6. This is exactly it. In Pitino's eyes, these freshman are tough to play for long stretches defensively when they don't know how to comprehend the scouting report as quickly like these older guys.
  7. All I know is those tickets would be extremely expensive lol.
  8. Could definitely see them beating Clemson and Duke at home. Didn’t look outmatched at all.
  9. Not to mention every team has story lines. Cant think just because we have Tominaga and haven’t won a game they’ll let us in. They don’t care about any of that when they’re setting the seed list. Northwestern was a media darling when they made it because literally every sports journalist went to Northwestern.
  10. If Gonzaga wins at San Fran and/or at St. Mary's to end their regular season, the committee will put them in over basically every bubble team without even thinking twice about it. Which is crazy, but it'll happen. That's also the kind of stuff we'd be up against.
  11. Only 20 wins going into Selection Sunday we'd be discussing who we're getting to come to PBA in the NIT. I think 21 is 50/50 depending on who we beat. Think there's also a very good chance we'd be sent to Dayton with 21. 22 is in but could still get sent to Dayton. Not as likely though. Pry a low 10, high 11 seed.
  12. They absolutely could end up in Omaha. I thought it’d be impossible too, but you have to think they are already trying to avoid rematches until the Sweet 16. And there’s just too many first round locations to worry about that imo. Look at Salt Lake City. Either Utah, Utah State, and/or BYU could end up playing there too. Actually a good chance one of them does end up there.
  13. It’s senior day so idk strange things can happen. Plus they’ll have that PG they were missing. They should beat all 3 of them on paper, yes. Im just saying they need to win at least one.
  14. They’re not going to let a team in that didn’t win one conference road game. That is a guarantee. I think they will too I’m just saying they still have to do it.
  15. The worst week is conference tourney/bid stealer week. That’s when the worrying really hits a peak.
  16. Think this is what you're referring to. Pretty crazy. Iowa State and TCU are the two teams in the Big 12 with Non Con SOS's worse than us. Alot of others are pretty bad, though. https://x.com/T_Oglesby22/status/1752743412921409816?s=20
  17. It helps to be consensus top 50 recruit. Milan is a baller.
  18. I could see the committee saying that their non-con SOS was the difference too, with their assumption being that we'd probably have an extra L or two if our non-con SOS was 68 instead of 317. Very good comparison for a blind resume, though.
  19. Does that mean they'd most likely try and not put us in Omaha as like an 8-9 seed? I do remember last year that Auburn was a 9 seed but played in Birmingham, which was a 2 hour drive from their campus.
  20. That was my first thought as well. Playing on a strained calf has to be extremely painful in basketball. Gotta get the leg right first.
  21. T-Rank is good for looking at similar resumes and seeing where those teams of the past ended up in the field or not, but I don't like using them for projected field. There's a reason they're close to last in accuracy rankings on bracketmatrix.
  22. For football, I think big boosters are willing to try and buy back a good program with a ton of cash in order to make them relevant again, not only for the returns it would create when it happens, but for the nostalgia factor as well. For basketball, I think our big boosters are a lot more wait-and-see or rather just apathetic atm. Not as willing to try and "buy" a good basketball program on top of football too. Getting Nebraska football back will take a lot of cash, and we already missed on QB1 year 1. The Creighton situation is simply different. It's basketball only with resources focused solely on that and a program on firm ground. Boosters are willing to foot the bill for a program when they know it's practically certain the product coming in each year will yield results/returns.
