  1. How would we know.....
  2. This also set up for a Nebraska vs Creighton rematch as a 7 vs 10 seed in the first round.
  3. Correct. There is no difference from college to pro leagues other than the limitation of how long you can play in college. College now has general managers, athlete salaries, basically salary caps, etc. Kids are staying in school longer to earn a paycheck and can't blame them as lots of them will be set financially for the rest of their lives by playing college sports now.
  4. Well, Nebraska never having won an NCAA Tournament game is factually accurate as well.
  5. Because as long as Nebraska has been playing basketball, that is not a very impressive stat either.
  6. What a stud!!!! I am just thrilled he is on our coaching staff.
  7. That was his role last year as well. He brought the ball up and played point guard so it's not a different role for him.
  8. Sad but true as that is a factor. Most likely he will be 2nd team and that is a pretty solid year if that happens.
  9. Could have sworn his foot was down out of bounds before he called a time out. I thought after he air balled it, that game was over. I could have handled if he made the shot from corner cleanly but to bank it in, just unreal. Only positive is that Creighton wins enough games to make our win against them a Q1 road win.
  10. I watched it live and that is so Creighton basketball. They are the luckiest team in the country.
  11. I agree. It's totally his decision and like I said, it's my opinion. Just don't see a need to make they kids grow up faster than they need to. You only get so much time in high school as well as college so don't rush it. He made his decision and as long as he can live with his decision, that is totally cool. Doesn't affect me at all.
  12. lol.....pretty big difference between Cooper Flagg and Branden Frager. Still doesn't change my mind that you shouldn't give up high school years to get to college sooner. Just enjoy your high school time and college will come soon enough.
  13. Neither. He just brings nothing to the table. Been that way all year. We are a much better team with him on the bench.
  14. Not sure who that is
  15. Poor decision on his part. No one should ever give up high school years just to get to college sooner.
  16. All good news but if we don't find ways to win games that we are up 15 points in the 2nd half, none of that will matter.
  17. We missed free throws and refs were bad.......all true. However, you have a team down by 15 in the 2nd half and their body language is bad, you have to go into killer instinct mode and we didn't. We started chucking up bad shots instead of playing the way that got you the lead in the first place. It is glaring that we need other scoring options beside Brice. Teams are starting to double team him and we don't have any other consistent option. The other thing I noticed is we are back to playing alot of 1-on-1 basketball and creating your own shot. There are times due to matchup this is fine but we seem to like to create our own shot instead of ball movement and get kids an open look. Bottom line is this as a very winnable game and we let it slip away. It hurts as we could be 3-1 in conference play and looking at a very good seed in NCAA tournament. Instead, we drop to .500 in conference and miss opportunity for a conference road win. Now you have a tough road game ahead of you and if you lose that one, you are under .500 and on a 2 game losing streak. Amazing how one game can change the whole outlook.
  18. For the people that say you don't want to be ranked, that makes no sense. If you are ranked, you get talked about more on ESPN/Fox/ect., your scores get on the ticker being a top 20 team and high school kids pay more attention to ranked teams which can help recruiting. Where is the downside of being a ranked team?
  19. This is the website I like to use as takes into account more than just one person or website opinion. http://www.bracketmatrix.com/
  20. First of all, people (individuals) aren't making billions but rather a corporation might be. So not sure how you don't consider a free education, meals, clothes and cash each month compensation??? That is easily over $100,000 compensation for each athlete. You may not think that is alot of money but I do. Granted the university and NCAA is making alot of money off their product but the athletes have always been compensated even if it's not as much as you think it should be. So basically we really don't need a separate category for college and pro level now since they are all getting paid and there isn't any difference.
  21. The pendulum has not been to far one way as the "student athletes" have always been compensated with a free education, clothes, meals, money, etc. Some of us had to pay for our education and take out student loans to pay back but athletes walk out of college with no student debt of tens (or sometimes hundreds) of thousands of dollars. Guess an education isn't considered compensation to you. It's going to stay turbulent as who is going to regulate it?? The money these kids make will just continue to grow till athletes are making more than the coaches. Not sure how you think it will settle down. It's just going to keep getting worse.
  22. Can't blame him. It's gotta to be extremely difficult to be a college coach these days. He is 100% accurate when he says we have to ask ourselves what is this all about. Seems like kids prefer more money as opposed to winning these days. Hard to judge cause if I was a 20 year old athlete, I'd probably want to make as much money as I could as well.
  23. Just curious what is so interesting and exciting about next year as we lose a ton of seniors after this year. We are losing Ulis, Williams, Gary, Morgan, Worster, and Meah. What makes you excited about next year losing all this experience?
  24. 100% agree and that is why it's hard to get invested in kids these days. You get excited to get a high school kid or transfer and they only stay 1 year and then move on to (green pastures). I absolutely love college sports but but with the way it's run nowadays, it's make it harder to like. Makes you wonder how much longer it will be until things like salary caps and signing bonus make their way into college sports. Other than you only get to play college sports for 4 year and professionally, you can play as long as you want, there isn't much difference anymore.
  25. And if they had lost to Kansas (which normally would happen), they would be 6-6 right now and not even looking good to make the NCAA tournament at the moment.
