  1. wow, that hurt. 32 seconds guys. dig in. fatigue can wait.
  2. wtg brandon. so nice to have him back.
  3. well, this is the time of the game that usually leads to trouble for us. let's see if we can't close this out without running out of gas.
  4. wow, 24 points for shavon. what an impressive player. like father like son, I guess.
  5. wow, psu has some fight in 'em. we gotta respond soon.
  6. wow, that was a fast run.
  7. good god. buzzer beater. sigh. please don't let that be the difference.
  8. heh woo hoo! shields playing lights out.
  9. oopsie, missed this.. naw, it's subscription only here and not worth the two games a year or so that I would get.
  10. I almost posted Six Months in a Leaky Boat, but figured that's more of a season kinda song. Let's get rid of that goose egg, gents. GO BIG RED!
  11. Here's the problem Creighton Fan. I consider this board family. We all have a shared love for Nebraska basketball. It doesn't matter that the Huskers have disappointed me for more than 40 years. I still love the team, as does every other Husker fan on this board. We welcome other posters to join us. The more the merrier. But then, there are always jackasses that come around. People like you, who weren't invited into our house, come crashing through the front door and demand to be treated with respect. Excuse me? If you want respect, don't be an asshole. (Sorry mods, for the language, but if the shoe fits...) Go enjoy your season. What did I do to be an asshole? Go back and reread the thread. I brought up what I thought was a very reasonable question about Purdue making the dance. No snide or disrespectful comments about Nebraska, Purdue, the Big 10 or anybody else. How is that being an asshole? Instead, a couple of people freaked out simply because I am a Creighton fan. Go back and reread my entire posting history. I've never been anything but respectful. Even after Creighton beat Nebraska, I was nothing but respectful. I don't understand your comment at all. I don't have an issue with you as much as others (really, at all, since I only object to other schools fans in game threads), but this is a gameday, so if you would be kind enough to not make yourself the topic of the day, I'd appreciate it. Maybe we can revisit this tomorrow or something. thanks.
  12. very nice, 64. love how he always uses "we". you can't help but root for this guy.
  13. It's kinda like the second string QB for the football team. He can always do better than the starter. No, it's not. I haven't seen a single poster make this case yet. I get that some people are not especially curious about this situation. That's fine. But for those of us who like to shake the Xmas presents, there's an interest.
  14. He's this year's Standhardinger, the guy we all think should be playing more but some guy who has dedicated his entire professional life to winning basketball disagrees. Well, that hits the nail on the head. I think it only grazes the nail. I can only speak for myself, but it's more of a "why, daddy, why?" situation for a few of us then a dead-set conviction that he should be playing. In my case, the public answer isn't especially satisfying. That said, I don't think Sergej was on the grassy knoll in Dallas, nor do I think Miles is hiding aliens in his basement.
  15. Maybe tape a cheetah to his back? That might be better for Andre' But maybe not for the cheetah, especially if Andre gets the munchies.
  16. Wasn't Bear Jones a strong nominee out of high school? When he had two functional feet? And I think Jaron Boone might have been. Would probably have to go back to the 90s. Okay, I just checked, and I didn't see anyone on the team rosters. I looked specifically for our best players back to the late 70s. Nada.
  17. Nice detective work, Norm. Why the disparity? I know zero about the selection process for this distinction, but you would think that Indy would have a bunch in comparison to, say, Iowa.
  18. This is a really hard question. I almost wish we could get Meyers back for an encore performance for the Illinois game. That was impressive. Not many players I don't like in this league (and that includes Mr. Leonard). This was much easier in the B12. This league just doesn't have the Bill Walkers, Beasley's, etc. that make you burn with venomous hatred.
  19. let me add to norm's last comment that I personally don't see any nefariousness to what Miles is doing with Vooch. He has his reasons, and maybe it's even the one he says it is and I just happen to find my way into a position of minor disagreement. I happen to think there's plus value in spelling regular players, especially guys like Almeida. No, he might not help us win the game directly, but he might by allowing someone else to help win the game. I do know our team is almost always tired at the end of games, and to me, that says that the value of getting a breather on the bench might be higher than the value of not playing a guy who might cost you a few points in a few minutes.
  20. hey, I found this persuasive.... nice work!
  21. Yes, this is the official explanation. It's just not taking with me. We stick in bodies that aren't "ready" and aren't going to help us win directly all the time. But it's entirely possible that I'm just hung up on the lack of big bodies and I hate to see one sitting right there doing nothing.
  22. Thanks for the recap. BC not going out on a limb, which is fine. I think Parker's trying to catch up to the speed of the game, and I'm not writing him off yet. I don't know how Sergej returns if he can't even sniff the court this season, unless there's something we don't know about, which is a nagging and understandable suspicion. "Strength" just doesn't cut it for me.
