  1. I’d take it.
  2. I think we’re about set to have a really solid backcourt. Roby would go a long way to giving us a solid lineup, top to bottom. But he’d want to be the focal point, and with all those scoring guards, who knows what opportunities would be there for him?
  3. The more I think about it, the less likely I think it is that Roby returns. We have Dachon Burke becoming eligible this year. He averaged double figure scoring at his last stop. We just got a commit from Haanif Cheatham. He averaged double figure scoring for basically his career before Nebraska. We got a recommit from Jervay Green who averaged over 20 ppg in junior college. We're seeking a commit from a PG who averaged nearly 20 ppg in junior college. We're going to have a lot of guys who want their share of the shots. You come back to a totally new system, having no idea for sure how you fit in or whether you'll be a focus ... or not ... and you run a risk of being odd man out in a system that maybe favors guard play. Who knows? I think it's a big risk for a guy with NBA aspirations like Isaiah. Would love to have him back but I would not begrudge his decision to remain in the draft if that's what he chooses to do.
  4. I heard 3 grad transfers, 3 regular sit-a-year transfers, and it looks like maybe a high school kid or two.
  5. This Wilcher kid can really shoot the rock.
  6. I think there will be plenty of minutes to go around for those 4. I think they could add another backcourt player and still keep everyone happy.
  7. It blows my mind that we've offered 2 kids from the same high school in the St. Louis area. I watched some of their film and I thought the best player on their team was somebody else.
  8. Ha! You didn't read all the way through Hoiberg's contract, then. Paragraph 7.C.2(a)(iii) specifically says, "... provided that all decisions on player personal matters, including recruitment and retention, have received prior WRITTEN approval of Norman Peterson of the Husker Hoops Central Board." So ...
  9. Is he having private workouts with Hoiberg? I thought I read someone say on here recently that he was working out on his own or something. I might be misremembering. Anyone know for sure?
  10. Easley is getting mid-major-level D1 attention. He'll get school paid for if he wants it.
  11. It's insane the difference in recruiting attention/focus between this current basketball staff and when Barry Collier took over from Danny Nee. I remember getting a sick feeling in my stomach when I saw that, instead of juco All-Americans like we recruited under Danny Nee, we were going after 3rd Team All-Jayhawk Conference selections like Kedrick Ford and Danai Young. And the results spoke for themselves back then. Danai redshirted and never played. Kedrick played only sparingly. But those were the people BC loaded up on when he arrived. Granted, there wasn't the transfer market then that there is today, but BC was just getting warm bodies in here to fill a roster and it came back to bite him when the 8/5 rule kicked in and he was stuck with players who weren't cut out for the major conference level of ball.
  12. This is a rock-solid backcourt if we land a PG like the Mack kid.
  13. Sweet! First recruit of the Hoiberg era (if you don't count Jervay Green who was actually committed to the prior staff.)
  14. If you're the coach who brought the player in, I agree. I would feel uncomfortable with a coach who did a spring Creaning every year. However -- and I'm not trying to pulverize the dead horse, perhaps just tenderize it a bit -- we're not shelling out big bucks to a new coaching staff only to saddle them with players that don't fit what they want to do. Hoiberg will keep who he thinks can help. And there are enough offers out there, combined with the recommitted recruits, to fill a roster. So, if your name isn't Dachon Burke, I'd have a fall-back plan.
  15. Good list. I'd take the French guy over Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua.
  16. I really like Drago. For a Euro kid? For a Euro kid, he's fantastic. He's so young I would really, solidly expect him to grow at least another inch. Maybe 2. He's so active but doesn't seem lost at all on the floor. Knows where to be to find the ball on rebounds. Just does a lot of things I really like. He's like Ed Morrow but doesn't think he should be a wing. I'll bet he could develop a jumper with a little help. Jayce Johnson? He's definitely good enough to be our post player this coming season, and we're going to need one. So this is good if we can get him.
  17. Wasn't expecting a jumper. He's passive. Watches the action more than influencing it. Stone hands. Jogs up and down the floor. This was not an impressive highlight vid for me.
  18. I defer to the staff. They know a hell of a lot more than me about talent and what they're looking for.
  19. Under-rated Jorge Bryan Diaz reference. Geez, you guys.
  20. I kinda wanted to centralize this info. Let me know who I'm missing. Maybe should have a category for "expressed interest/no known offer or visit"
