Media getting access to practice today
Norm Peterson replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Nice-looking jumpers: Kevin Cross; Shamiel Stevenson; Jervay Green Ugly-ass jumpers: Samari Curtis; Dalano Banton *Non-exhaustive list. This is just from the above video. There might be more ugly-ass jumpers on the team (although let's hope not because them are painful to watch.) -

Actually, yes. It didn't go in. Sorry, Fred. -
And the last guy to get a triple-double in a Husker uniform if I recall correctly.

They have Yvan listed as a 4-star and the 108th best recruit in the country this year. Sure hope they're right about that. -
Rothstein is smart to rate us his sleeper. We just about can't help but exceed expectations this year.

Tied for 3rd highest graded returning CB in the conference. Tied for best name of returning players in the conference.

AD in charge of basketball John Johnson

Boy that's a relief. Leave it to Handy Johnson to provide that tidbit of information. -

So, Bill Moos has a new Johnson? I'm sure Bill Moos knows exactly what to do with his Johnson. Probably go to staff meetings. -

Exactly. They certainly have the talent on the roster to justify some pre-season recognition. Whether they live up to it or not probably determines whether Chambers is still employed at this time next year. -
Given their current recruiting rankings, it would be an improvement in talent over almost any Husker team in the last probably … ever. And it would be cool to have it be basically a bunch of hometown kids. Edited to add (lest anyone misconstrue): I didn't say "best ever." I said better talent than ALMOST any Husker team ever. There'd probably be half a dozen or so teams with more talent on paper than that group appears to possess at this stage of the recruiting rankings.

2021 SG Hunter Sallis ->Gonzaga->Wake Forest

I noticed that our unofficial lead recruiter tweeted about Max Murrell and Chucky, but left Hunter out of the equation. -

Interesting. No Dachon Burke or Shamiel Stevenson. But he takes Ouedraogo sight unseen over Kevin Cross. -
2020 PF Max Murrell -> Stanford

Hard not to offer a dude from just down the street when P5 programs in the backyard are offering. This has Mike Daum written all over it. -
I've been thinking about this. Hoiberg is more about set plays and less about random movement based on rules, which was the Miles motion system. There will be a time before they go to Italy where they can practice and scrimmage, and then they'll have the trip where they'll play games and probably do some film work and maybe practice too, I don't know. But, between the time they get back and the time that practices are officially allowed again (which will be a couple of months, roughly) I don't think there will be opportunity to install additional offense. So, whatever he gets in for the Italy trip will be what the players will know until October, basically. At least that's what I'm thinking based on my limited understanding of the rules on practices. Since this will be a new system for every single player on the roster, it's my hope that some leaders emerge who will organize unofficial practices to get people reps on the permutations and variations of all the sets that will have been installed for the Italy trip so that, at the very least, what they will know of the offense they will know very well.

He puts up free throws like his body double, who, incidentally, is making a case for himself to make the Suns' roster. -

So, on defense, we have a LB who is the leading returning tackler in the B1G, two of the top 4 pass rushers (by win%), and a couple of the best corners. We oughta have a pretty decent defense. We also have arguably the best returning QB in the league. Question will be whether he has enough quality targets to throw to, an offensive line that can protect him and open some holes, and whether we can find a RB to give us the bump Ozigbo gave us last year. I have some confidence that Frost can put together an offense with the tools we have and some of the pieces we've added that will be able to put some points on the board. And we should have a good enough defense that we can outscore most teams we play. If the answers to the above questions are favorable, 10-2 (ESPN's prediction?) is not outlandish. Vegas sets our over/under at 8.5. I think it all comes down to the offensive line and depth at linebacker. I'm awfully tempted to take the overs.

Highest-graded returning corners in the B1G. DiCaprio made the list.
