Yeah— I think a close OSU loss would be the best we can hope for there. Maybe OT.
-
Big road opportunity for Duquesne tonight at Dayton. Chance to get back into the NET Top 100.

Results (2/12/24): Biggest bubble game of the day went our way… barely. Wake hung with Duke for a while before falling at the end. Sallis with a nice game. TCU beat WVU and while I didn’t expect anything different, a home loss for the frogs would have been good for us. Big 10 Games None Non-Con Opponents Games Prairie View A&M 61 @ Florida A&M 58 Other Bubble Games Wake Forest 69 @ Duke 77 West Virginia 65 @ TCU 81 Games To Watch (2/13/24): Boy what a slate tonight for bubble games! As always, the bubble team I feel is bolder. Some bubble teams with HUGE opportunities at home include Butler, Syracuse, Cincinnati, and Nevada. Would benefit us for all of them to lose. Nevada and NM is kind of a toss up, but Nevada more to lose with this one than NM. I don’t think a loss knocks NM out but a win would knock Nevada down a peg. Indiana St is ranked but could easily find themselves in a 1 bid league if they lose a couple. St John’s and Providence both bubbly and both looking to knock the other down a peg. I think Ole Miss is safely in barring something crazy but they do have a tough stretch here and haven’t won a game in Feb yet. Big 10 Games Michigan @ Illinois OSU @ Wisconsin Non-Con Opponents Games Duquesne @ Dayton Georgetown @ Creighton Other Bubble Games Marquette @ Butler UNC @ Syracuse Iowa St @ Cincinnati Illinois St @ Indiana St St Johns @ Providence Texas A&M @ Vandy Drake @ Evansville LSU @ Florida UCF @ BYU Ole Miss @ Kentucky New Mexico @ Nevada

They need to too… Didn’t know this until this morning, but Wake is still without a Q1 win. Their Virginia and Florida games are so close to putting them into the win column, but as it stands they have yet to win a Q1 game. The committee has NEVER taken an at large without a Q1 win.

KU plays really well at home, but can’t win on the road. Bad loss to WVU on the road. They have 2 road wins I guess but nothing of significance. Must be a bubble team lol!
-
Good win for us (Duke). Absolutely need bubble teams to avoid big wins.

Teams with just 2 March games before the tourney: Neb, PSU, Iowa, Maryland, OSU, Mich Teams who will have 3 conference games and no break before B1G tourney: Pur, I’ll, Wisco, NW, MSU, Minn, IU, Rutgers
-
Crazy stat, but after this week, there’ll still be teams with more games left than us. Currently Minnesota, Rutgers, and Illinois still have 8 games left (to our 6) We are the only team to have played 14 B1G games so far. HOWEVER we will have two breaks of 1 week each before the B1G tournament. Some teams (like Illinois) have no breaks before the B1G tournament. Rest could be in our favor come time for the conference tournament.

While true, I will say Tominaga is not your average sports story. I’ve seen more tweets about him from random journalists and accounts than probably any Husker in recent memory. Media from Japan would flock. More eyes overseas on the tournament. You're 100% right though that we will not get in because of our stories. Our resume and metrics will have to be at least comparable to other bubble teams if we end up on the deep bubble.

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 25 - Michigan
hskr4life replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Wonder if we were more focused in this one considering Michigan’s win against Wisconsin. -
If we switch out a few of the Florida A&M teams for a few more Duquesne and sprinkle in another neutral site game, our metrics would look a ton different. (That’s also if we would have won those games)
-
Michigan still has @Iowa, MSU at home and @OSU left as their big games. MSU has @Michigan as their only real big game. Penn Stat has @Maryland, OSU, and Minny as their tougher games left.

I think committee will look at metrics more than a specific number of wins. But one affects the other, so… Result based metrics have fallen into the mid to upper 30’s in the past few weeks. We were as high as a Top 25 KPI and Top 30 SOR, but not so much now. Predictive metrics on the other hand have kept increasing, thankfully. We were in the upper 50’s Pom wise (can’t remember if we dropped into the 60’s at one point) and BPI was definitely in the 60’s. Now we’re nearing jumping into the Top 50 in both metrics and BPI has passed Ken Pom for the first time that I remember this year. Our SOS is nearing a jump into the Top 50 (though with our remaining schedule, it may fall a bit. Our Non-Con SOS is still disgusting and will be used against us if we’re anywhere near the bubble.

If true that Iowa spent like 20-30 minutes before coming to post game-- long enough for Nebraska to wrap up their celebration... then that's on them. Post games for visitors usually start within 10-15 after the game.. max.

HHCC Game #26 - vs. Penn State (Feb. 17, 11:00 AM CST)

Huskers 76 Penn State 71 -
Results (2/11/24): In the Big 10, Minny blows like a 13-15 point lead and Northwestern stays strong at home. Villanova has some work to do, but they stay in bubble contention. Seton Hall after their 5 game win streak has bow lost 4 of their last six with their only two wins being DePaul and Georgetown. They are definitely bubbly. The American continues to march toward a 2 bid league though Memphis can't avoid any slip ups. Big 10 Games Penn State 63 @ Northwestern 68 Minnesota 85 @ Iowa 90 Non-Con Opponents Games NONE Other Bubble Games FAU 95 @ Wichita St 82 Seton Hall 54 @ Villanova 80 Tulane 78 @ Memphis 90 Games To Watch (2/12/24): TCU would fall below .500 in conference with a loss. We absolutely need Duke to not give Wake any life on the bubble. Biggest game of the day tomorrow is that Duke game. Big 10 Games None Non-Con Opponents Games Prairie View A&M @ Florida A&M Other Bubble Games Wake Forest @ Duke West Virginia @ TCU

JMO, but if we run the regular season table and lose game 1 in the Big 10 Tourney, I think we end up in the 8/9 game. Maybe a 7. There isn't a ton of games out there that can give us a huge seed bump. Maybe @OSU ends in a Q1 win if we'd win it, but the rest are Q2 and Q3 games.
-
Probably as best as we could have hoped for with JB. Anxiously waiting to hear more.

TV broadcast is almost unbearable. It’s all CClark. My wife even commented on it. -
You can, at this point in the season, make an argument for any conference team to win/lose. Theres a lot of season left. So I don’t disagree with what you’re saying. I look at “can this team still drop below us” when I see anyone around the bubble but ahead of us. I’d rather be above NW and have their win over us “look good” than behind them. If we had beaten them twice, I’d feel different. But since we split, I would much rather finish better than them.
