We’ve been able to not let them go on a run. That’ll be key the last 10 minutes. Just keep getting buckets and keep this baby close. -

From the Huskers.com article Series History: Illinois leads the all-time series, 21-8, over Nebraska in a series that dates back to 1921. Nebraska is 6-14 against Illinois since joining the Big Ten, and the Illini have won seven straight meetings. Nebraska has won once in Champaign since joining the Big Ten, a 76-67 win on Jan. 16, 2016. Prior to Nebraska joining the conference in 2011-12, the Huskers and Illini had played only once since 1976 - a 100-73 Husker victory in the 1990 San Juan Shootout. -

If Cips optimistic butt is on the board in the game thread today, we’ll have this thing in the bag! Ultimate glue guy! -
100000% agree that Northwestern is bigger than Illinois today. A win over Illinois is a nice feather in our resume cap, but sweeping a season series over a fellow bubble team including taking a road game is priceless.

Lol this site says we only have a 30ish percent chance to dance at 23 wins. That would be a 23-7, 13-7 record. That would mean at minimum 3 road wins if we won out at home. Wouldn't put much stock into this one. Here is a list of the best bracketology sites of the past 5 years. http://www.bracketmatrix.com/rankings.html

Unless it’s in Omaha, I’ll likely not be there… but crying just may happen. Not going to lie. Literally everyone that’s alive that’s a Husker fan can say “I’ve been waiting my whole life for this.” #NoShame

Michigan State vs Nebraska NET Rankings
hskr4life replied to big red22's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
The road NIT game that year was probably the biggest shaft I have ever seen. -
Would he have a chance at the league? With some more development here? His inside game is pretty good and his outside game is awesome when it’s on. Not the quickest, but moves fine for the position he plays.
-
Agreed, though I wouldn’t mind more teams like Duquesne in these MTEs we do schedule. They’ve kind of collapsed, but their NET was pretty high there for a while. You’d think teams like Drake, Grand Canyon, Bradley, San Francisco, McNeese, LA Tech, App State, etc would be willing to possibly come here. Not saying you have to schedule all of them but the teams mentioned above are all Top 70 KenPom teams and would be Q2 opponents. It’s also dependent on how these teams do the rest of the year as they could collapse at any point or thrive at any point. You really think Oregon St thought they were getting a Q2 win when they beat App State and knocked them to 0-2?
-
I guess I assumed most bracketology goes on “as of today”. No way you can project out 68 teams remaining schedules but maybe Lunardi does. Even so, we have comparably easier schedules down the road I think. We also have the H2H over them. Our home games Rutgers, Minny, Michigan, and PSU are comparable if not easier than theirs (Nebraska, PSU, Michigan, Iowa, Minny Our roadies (Illinois, NW, Indiana, OSU, Michigan) compare well to theirs too (Minny, Rutgers, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan St I think the Nw game is arguably bigger than the Illinois game and if I had to pick winning one, I’d choose NW. We’re still in double bye territory as well as them AND sweeping the season series would do us a lot of good in March.
-
Lunardi posted on Twitter just now his thoughts. He has Northwestern and MSU both as "80%+ chance to make the field" and us as a one of the 25 teams fighting for 7 bubble spots. I'm sorry, but Northwestern's resume and our resume are really comparable. Not a 7 seed and 10 seed difference IMO.

Results (2/1/24): Biggest win of the day was ours of course. Outside of that, our non-con opponents could have had a better day and all bubbly teams took care of business. One note is that North Dakota is doing pretty dang well in conference play and sit in a tie at the top of the Summit standings. Big 10 Games Wisconsin 72 @ Nebraska 80 Non-Con Opponents Games Stony Brook 71 @ Hofstra 72 North Dakota 95 @ South Dakota 81 Western Illinois 79 @ Lindenwood 71 Hawaii 76 @ Cal St Fullerton 68 Oregon St 63 @ UCLA 71 Other Bubble Games Seattle U 88 @ Grand Canyon 95 Oregon 78 @ USC 69 San Diego 79 @ San Francisco 95 Games To Watch (2/1/24): Need Creighton to beat Butler (Puke). If Tim could pull off some Miles Magic, that would be a terrible loss for Nevada. Big 10 Games Ohio St. @ Iowa Non-Con Opponents Games Siena @ Rider Butler @ Creighton Other Bubble Games St Bonaventure @ Dayton Princeton @ Yale San Jose State @ Nevada
