  1. I get it. It’s a home state guy who panned out. But this sounds like a big ol nothing burger. Good on coach for sticking up for his player as I expect all coaches would, but honestly it just sounds like typical recruiting stuff that probably happens more than we know. Coaches cool on guys on the recruiting trail… even guys who are committed or semi-committed. It happens.
  2. Tominaga is great. CJ is having a breakout year off the bench! Complete glue guy. But we’re nowhere near where we would be right now without Mast. He’s such a big piece for why this works. Can play inside and shoot it from outside. We’re very fortunate his injury happened when it did. Even if he’s out a few weeks in conference, those games would be very tough to win. He'll be one that you don’t fully appreciate until he’s gone. Then you realize how big of a piece he truly was.
  3. The number of posts I have seen on other message boards that have said “they are my second favorite B1G team” is more than I can remember/count. Most love us, don’t want to play us, and a lot of people love Tominaga.
  4. If anyone is interested, here’s a team sheet with all of the metrics a committee would see. I didn’t include specific games that you could also have for a quad. Overall our predictive metrics are improving and our result based metrics are off the charts good. Top 25 KPI and Top 30 SOR is great!
  5. Lot of compliments on the Illinois board including one that said "that could be a sneaky Sweet 16 team"! However, I saw multiple posts that we played "lights out" or played our "A++" game and honestly, I don't think we played great. Didn't play terrible, but didn't play great either.
  6. Got sick Saturday into Sunday, so I missed yesterday's/today's update... So I'll just pick it up from here. Results (2/4/24): Sad sad day for Husker fans as that would have been an awesome win. Providence forgot they had a game today. I think I saw somewhere that they had 6 made shots like 5 minutes into the second half. Woof. Big 10 Games Purdue 75 @ Wisconsin 69 Nebraska 84 @ Illinois 87 Non-Con Opponents Games Rider 93 @ Iona 94 Other Bubble Games Providence 50 @ Villanova 68 Games To Watch (2/5/24): Big one for KSU tomorrow and would be nice if they could pull out a W at home. Also a big bubbly game as Miami still has some aspirations at Dancing. Big 10 Games NONE Non-Con Opponents Games Coppin State @ South Carolina St Florida A&M @ Alabama State Kansas @ Kansas State Other Bubble Games Miami @ Virginia
  7. I mean-- isn't that in every predictive metric? LOL To be fair, they are 169/174 in average of brackets the past five years so that means there are 5 bracketologists WORSE than that.
  8. And Illinois fans are complaining that he was "undercutting" him. You had 5 fouls heading into OT and you're complaining you didn't get a foul?
  9. I would not want to see that Illinois team again if it were up to me. Too athletic for us and they are a terrible matchup for us. Dimes noted this in his pre-game as well. One thing that helped us get back into it was that they stopped driving. We couldn't stop them when they were driving. Then they started to settle for threes.
  10. Let’s goo! Get up early! D has to keep intensity up here.
  11. Would have been soooo nice to grab an And 1 there. AMAZING FIGHT!
  12. We’re going to look back on this stretch where we could have easily tied it. Missed way too many shots.
  13. Jo and Mast have both missed 1 that absolutely should have been in that I can remember. Both just rushed it.
  14. They have the advantage on the athlete side of things. They’ll probably love the rim 2nd half.
