  1. Yeah. I don't know what to think about this. I don't know that I'm going to read too much into his 2 new visits. He said before that he was going to take them (and that was when he seemed to be really high on Nebraska), so it's not necessarily a new development. The only thing that has changed is that he's visiting Miami of Ohio instead of Georgia (which is probably a good thing for Nebraska) and he is officially visiting ASU (which with ASU being the hometown school, it's not like he is going to see a lot that he hasn't already seen). If Tummala ends up choosing ASU, I don't really think it will be due to him taking this official visit. I imagine he is already very familiar with their campus and program. My fingers are crossed that he signs with Nebraska. Could be tough to take him out of ASU territory, but then again, it wouldn't be the first time that Miles managed to do something that I didn't necessarily expect him to be able to do.

  3. I actually think the only bandwagon fans that will really bother me is the Nebraska football fan that is a casual basketball fan and since Creighton has had more success over the recent years, they are a Creighton basketball "fan". These fans have made a habit of talking trash about Nebraska basketball. If the tides turn and Nebraska basketball experiences a higher level of success for awhile, and these casual fans start jumping on the bandwagon, then I will not be as receptive to those "fans". In that case, Nebraska basketball fans need to make a shirt that says: "Nebrasketball" "My shirt has always been red all year long"
  4. I sure hope not on the above. Probably a great kid but Nebraska, in the B1G, cant be taking a project with no D-1 offers at all to his name. The kid would be best off to go the juco route to grow into his body and hone his craft. Nebraska cant reach if they want to be successful, thats been the downfall previously. I agree. I'm not too impressed with Kornet. That's why I was trying to figure out why Nebraska would even be looking at him.
  5. Robin Washut said on 93.7 the ticket: Miles talked to alot of coaches at this tourney. Doesn't expect anything to happen as far as a coaching move until after the spring signing period. Thinks Tim Miles will be looking for a coach that can develop players / x's and o's, just as much as he will be looking for a coach with AAU ties. Myles Turner: Said it means a lot to him that Nebraska was one of the first schools to offer him. Shot blocking specialist. Guys couldn't even get a shot off when he was around. 2013 PF Luke Kornet: 6'10" 195 lbs: Teammate of Myles Turner. Nebraska fans should keep an eye on him. Wonder if Nebraska's chances of landing Turner go up if they take Kornet in the 2013 class. Just thinking outloud on that one.
  6. This is a tough one for me. On one hand, I'm sure that there will be a bit of resentment towards the bandwagon fans, because they will be celebrating the good times, without having to experience the bad. The bandwagon fans didn't have to remain loyal through all of the heartbreaking defeats throughout the last couple of coaching regimes. The bandwagon fans haven't had to deal with trash talk from other fans (Creighton, Kansas, etc) and defend themselves for backing a program that has never won an NCAA tourney game. In fact, I'm sure that alot of the future bandwagon fans even contributed to the piling on during the bad years. It doesn't quite seem fair that they will now be able to stick out their chests with the die hards and wave the Nebrasketball banner, without having to suffer through the tough times. On the other hand, the bandwagon fans will not be able to truly appreciate the good years to the same degree as the die hards, because they have never had their hearts ripped out. For the bandwagon fans, it will be a fun thing to experience, but the successful years will mean different things to the two different types of fans. The good years will mean much more to the die hards. At the end of the day though, more fans buying tickets for Nebraska basketball means a more impressive atmosphere for visiting recruits. It means a tougher road environment for visiting teams. It means more money for Nebraska basketball to grow the program. The higher number of tickets sold means better resources for the basketball program. So I say bring on the bandwagon fans. When Nebraska basketball makes the transition from 'cult classic' to 'mainstream popularity', that means that Nebraska basketball has truly arrived.

  8. Yeah I know. I've heard people that have seen him practice say that he has legit NBA athleticism.

  12. He is a Div II JUCO. If would seem to me that he would be a walkon. I can't imagine Nebraska taking him ahead of Tummala or Herbert. https://twitter.com/huskerextrabr/status/325993882095599617

  16. One player Olson watched was 2014 PG Marcus Bartley (6'4") of the Peoria Irish (Illinois). He is getting interest from high major programs. Bartley has been compared to former Colorado State standout point guard Dorian Green. Rivals profile: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Marcus-Bartley-151119
  17. That's pretty cool. I didn't know you could conduct a survey on here.
  18. I agree. And he is 6'11", 225 lbs as a Jr, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was up to 6'11", 250 lbs by the time his first day of college rolls around... He will be physically ready to get on the floor from day 1. Not a guy that has to spend 2-3 years in the weight room and cafeteria before he is a legit post player.
  19. A growth spurt of a couple of inches has the junior from Euless (Texas) Trinity pushing 6-foot-11 and he's easily one of the hottest names in the junior class. An unranked three-star, Turner is a slender big man who can run the floor, has great length and very good hands. He's become a heavy target of Big 12 programs and has earned offers from places such as Kansas, Oregon State, USC, TCU, Texas A&M and SMU. Others with interest include Baylor, Oklahoma, Washington, Oklahoma State and Kansas State. Look for him to be a guy that coaches flock to see when he takes the floor alongside 2014's No. 2 player Emmanuel Mudiay on Texas Select this spring. http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1466412
  20. Myles Turner: 6'11", 225 lbs, Center Rivals: 4-Star, #78 overall prospect in the 2014 class Link to Rivals profile: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Myles-Turner-134245
  21. AUCKLAND (NBL) - The New Zealand Breakers have cemented their status as one of the finest teams in NBL history by capturing the title for the third straight time. The club that's helping keep the national team, the Tall Blacks, among the formidable sides in international basketball swept the Perth Wildcats in the best-of-three Grand Final. They followed up a 79-67 Game 1 triumph in Auckland with a 70-66 championship-clinching triumph in Perth over the weekend. "Three in a row is something that only one team has ever done before." Sydney captured the title in 2003, 2004 and 2005. http://www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fc/news/lateNews/arti.asp?newsid=55306
