Nebraska on the Selection Committee Board
Nebrasketballer replied to hhctony's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
St John's is currently 9-10 (0-8). There is a good chance they finish the season 2-9, which would put them at 11-19 for the season. They beat Nebraska 79-56. As the season progresses, I believe that loss will continue to look worse. Realistically, Nebraska needs to finish the season 7-2 and show well at the Big Ten tournament to have a shot at the NCAA tournament. -

Moos Finally Attends a Nebrasketball Game
Nebrasketballer replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
“I’ll be eager to talk to Tim about what is in his mind in building a solid foundation,” Moos said. “I’m really going to put a lot of effort into looking at what has occurred since he’s been here.” -
Moos Finally Attends a Nebrasketball Game
Nebrasketballer replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
“You’d like to get a program that’s going to postseason three out of five years,” Moos said. -
If people are going to complain about crowd performance at PBA, then I think someone should also calculate where Nebraska ranks in terms of win total over the last 5 years and compare that to where Nebraska ranks in attendance over the last 5 years. My guess is that when compared to other teams that have had 4 losing records out of 5 seasons, Nebraska blows out those schools in terms of attendance. And if you look at the schools with comparable attendance to Nebraska, those teams likely have much more tangible on-court success and are likely consistent NCAA Tournament teams (compared to a Nebraska program that has never even won an NCAA Tournament game). According to anyone outside of the program that I have ever heard talk about this subject, the level of fan support for this Nebraska basketball program (that is so drastically lacking in terms of legitimate success on the court) is actually pretty impressive. That's my (apparently unpopular) opinion.

And I actually think Tshimanga can/will be good next season, but right now he is so weak with the basketball, he is so weak when he needs to get into position to rebound both offensively and defensively, and he looks slow/unfocused on defense. Honestly, he looks like the kid in jr high that grew 6 inches over summer and is still waiting for their coordination to catch up. -

Nebraska is so much better when Tshimanga is on the bench. This lineup is long, athletic, dynamic and has the ability to get to the rim and finish strong. -

Such a Nebrasketball way to choke that game away in the final seconds. -

Nebrasketball gonna Nebrasketball. I don't need to hear about moral victories in Tim Miles season #6. Miles is still McDermott's bitch and he is still Creighton's bitch. This garbage gets so old. "The only show in the state" is still the little brother. -

McVeigh is an absolute joke defensively -

Could Tshimanga be any weaker with the basketball when rebounding or attempting to finish in the paint. It's unreal. -

Tshimanga = comically weak with the basketball -

I would be hard to find another D1 center that is as weak with the bball down in the post as Tshimanga. He would triple his points if he could just figure out how to secure rebounds that he gets his hands on and if he could just convert the chip shots. -

Nebrasketball gonna Nebrasketball. Tim Miles should have been gone after last season. He doesn't look to be taking advantage of his stolen season here. This garbage is getting so old. I wonder if Nebraska will even keep it within 30 points vs Creighton... -
Creighton is legit. Just scored 100 points again. Back to back wins vs top25 opponents (One of those on the road and the other a neutral site game). I would honestly be very surprised if Creighton didn't make the Sweet16 this season. It's scary to think how dominant they would be this season, if Patton wouldn't have left early.

Yeah, by the looks of this, Nebraska will be lucky to keep it within 30 points in their Big East matchup vs Creighton... -

Wow, this is absolutely pathetic. St John's is absolutely clowning Nebraska. Throwing alley oops off of the backboard even. -

Alot of the players don't like Miles once they get here. It's that simple. (And yes that is based on info from a friend that is close with multiple players from the last few years). Its the reason that Nebraska consistently has key/core players leave each season before their eligibility is up. Do other programs around the country have players transfer? Yes, but it is not common to have arguably your best returning players transferring multiple seasons in a row. I know the Husker-goggles crowd is going to blast me for this post, but at some point people have to open their eyes and stop making excuses for garbage.
