  1. So when Walker is back too, won’t we see a rotation like this? 1- Banton 2- McGowens 3- Allen 4- Mayen 5- Walker 1- Webster 2- Thor 3- Stevenson 4- Lakes 5- Andre / Yvan
  2. Nebraska recruited McGowens as a PG? He seems like a 2 or a 3 to me.
  3. I would be pretty disappointed if Doane was the best that the Huskers could get worked out.
  4. While Yvan might not be the only problem for this team, his ineffectiveness on the offensive end effectively throws a stick in the spokes of this offense. One of the most effective components of this offense is kicking the ball inside, which leads to either an easy 2’ shot, or an open kick-out 3 (which is arguably the highest percentage 3 PT shot in this offense). The kick out 3PT shot would make an enormous difference for our entire offense, but most notably for Lat, because he is the least capable of creating his own shot. I’ve seen multiple times guys like Allen, Banton, Trey, etc... literally look right at Yvan and, even though they could easily get him the ball, they choose not to (likely because they realize it’s basically like a turnover to give him the ball, even though every now and then the blind squirrel finds a nut). So they keep the ball moving around the perimeter, which doesn’t stress the defensive rotation and doesn’t generate kick out 3 PT shots for guys like Lat to get their open looks. And the lack of that high percentage 3 PT threat allows the defense to sag and help and take away driving lanes to the hoop. And my guess is that if Lat was getting his open 3PT looks, he wouldn’t be putting the ball on the floor and trying to get to the rim to score...to me, that is a product of the fact that he knows that this offense needs him to be a contributor, so when he doesn’t get those 3s, he tries to force the issue by taking it to the rack, which his skill set isn’t adequate to do successfully.
  5. Yes, Creighton is a great team. To me, it’s still embarrassing when you get blown out by your instate rival that has beat you almost every time of your last 22 matchups (many of those blowouts) even though you are the state school with a significant advantage in terms of resources.
  6. Now it’s circus time. Dunks and 3s all over. Nebraska basketball is pathetic as usual.
  7. This basketball program is such an embarrassment
  8. Nebrasketball gonna Nebrasketball
  9. Yvan you have got to be kidding me
  10. Great job driving to the hoop without the spin move by Teddy
  11. Teddy needs to stop with that spin move. Clearly that was addressed in the scouting report
  12. This game is probably going to get ugly now.
  13. Yvan is so weak with the ball on offense
  14. Lat getting in early foul trouble is bad news for Nebraska because now Yvan has to play more minutes and he’s terrible on both offense and defense.
  15. The wording of that report is a little misleading I think, because I’m pretty sure Duke only had one more non-conference game scheduled. So they are basically choosing not to play a single game.
  16. I guess when Walker and Andre come back, I would expect Lat to move to the 4 spot, being that stretch-4 would seem to be his most natural position. I would expect to see Banton, McGowens, Allen, Lat, Walker be the starting 5.
  17. On defense, Thor guards about as poorly as Kyle Korver has in the NBA. Dude can’t hang with anyone. The difference is that Korver has been an elite 3PT shooter on the offensive end.
  18. To me, it appears obvious that Thor and Yvan are both major liabilities on both ends of the court. When Andre and Walker are back in the mix, I’m hoping that their minutes come primarily from Thor and Yvan.
  19. After seeing this team play a few games this season, I will be very surprised if Nebraska wins more than 5 conference games this season.
  20. Game over. Likely going to get smoked by Creighton on Friday too.
