  1. Coach Miles' Halftime Tweet: Tim Miles @CoachMiles · 3m 3 minutes ago We have to use the momentum we finished the first half with to start the second half.
  2. 34-33 Halftime. Holy Moly, cut the deficit to one pt. (Go Fuller)
  3. We foul they go to the line. We foul, we get the ball!
  4. Talent differential is palpable (but we are a tough team, still keeping it within 6 pts)
  5. If we lose, maybe they won't take us seriously @ Lincoln!
  6. Starting to get that 'Upset' feeling Again! Huskers - 70 Maryland - 65 (Edit: Nope! Just Heartburn Again. Start my Prilosec regimen tomorrow!)
  7. Agreed! But I think his talents may be more than just as an outside shooter.
  8. Tough Game coming up @ Maryland, tied (with Purdue) for 2nd place in B1G. Maryland is tough at home (15-1 on the season) but has had their share of close games; their last three home games being decided by a total of nine points. This is a first-ever meeting of the two teams (with a season-ending rematch in Lincoln). Huskers Desperately Need a Road Win! Anything can happen! 9. Coach Miles tweeted a picture from their Shootaround at Maryland, so they arrived OK! (for some reason the picture or tweet won't post - go to Miles' twitter to see it )
  10. You could always 'sell' goggles at a table near the entrance, or near the entry to the RedZone (with proceeds going to benefit HHC )
  11. Terran Petteway was named one of the 15 watch list members for the 2015 Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award! http://www.huskers.com/SportSelect.d...&DB_OEM_ID=100
  12. Donated! (won't be there to see it, but it'll be on TV. Be interesting to see what the announcers have to say, if anything).
  13. You can order those via the internet. I'd suggest you go with your gut and make yourself an Old Fashion. Drunk (vision impairment) goggles might help us make more baskets!
  14. Good Find!
  15. Really? I would think if you were paying attention at all you would have heard about this. United Rentals? Try as I might to keep abreast from afar (well outside B1G's footprint) I too was clueless (my normal state), or forgot! But, after reading a couple of comments (say, 49r's) I get the gist. I'd hazard a guess that word would soon permeate PBA for anyone who didn't know the significance. (I don't think it would take that many wearing goggles to make the point.)
  16. Go Avery!
  17. Thanks for the Link! I believe Ken Pomeroy also did a study of refereeing (and may have a data-set on his site - don't know as I'm not a subscriber). It seems like there is little, or no accountability of refereeing. Even when you have a 'notorious' referee like Karl Hess that was recently 'fired;' it was not for poor officiating, rather for making ill-advised derogatory comments outside of basketball that were 'politically incorrect.' I believe there was another infamous referee 'let-go' recently, again not for officiating reasons, but for 'other' issues. What would it take for say, a conference- review, or even peer-review of officiating? All the games are taped aren't they?
  18. I've wondered about this too. It's nothing against Benny; he's my favorite player to watch, zooming around the court stealing the ball and creating turnovers. But as you've noted, after a steal, more often than not the transition doesn't result in any points, nor a foul. Most times his steals are takeaways, and the 'stealee' is hot on his heels all the way down the court. In this scenario, it seems it would make sense for Benny to hesitate momentarily before going to the rim so the 'stealee' overshoots, possibly fouling, and if not, giving Benny an uncontested shot or lay-up. Or, if anyone else in in play, this seems like the perfect time for an assist. Where am I going wrong here? (Anyone?)
  19. Kudos to H_L for starting this thread (I'll even give you a 'green' arrow ) Why? Because it brings out all the 'Positives' surrounding the program from long-suffering fans. I understand your disappointment and frustration; The express ride we all hopped on last year has run into a stretch of rough track. Sure, I’m disappointed like everyone else, but deep down we all knew it wouldn’t be smooth sailing all the way, without a few bumps along the road. Last season the Team over-achieved, Big-Time! This year; Well, it seems more like water seeking its own level. We are building a program; and that takes time. Prospects for the future are Bright! So exactly why does your starting this thread make me feel better? Other boards I know of are full of negative criticisms; on the program, about the coaches, about the players, with suggestions like; basketball is the 'easiest sport to turn around,' or it's time to 'clean-house.' Any 'positives' are given short-shrift and quickly shunted aside if the team is not winning, As a basketball 'Noob' I'd quickly find myself in a deeper funk than the current Huskers' offense, if it weren't for Huskers Hoops Central and the perspectives of this forum. That's why I find I'm spending more and more time on this site, discussing the program and its prospects with avid, knowledgeable fans.
