Wow, looking over how our offense compares to some other big ten teams in things I deem to be important in college baseball. Things like Total bases per k. K's per home run, Stolen base success rates etc. It is downright pathetic. Erstad clearly does not understand analytics very well, and clearly is not recruiting the right type of players. Striking out a lot and hitting for no power whatsoever is a a horrific blend of ingredients. Indiana 5.46 K per homer Nebraska 26.4 Iowa total bases per K 2.17 Nebraska 1.33 Grasp that for a second. 1.33 total bases per K

And he despises long two pointers almost as much as I do.

Sounds simple, but they didn't have possession of the ball. To be over and back you must possess the ball in the front court first.

good point. I was in the camp that I liked the foul, but I am starting to wonder.

RIP. That was a good one. Saw it often during the Delaware St trials and tribulations.

Nebraska vs. Minnesota Series Game Thread

Striking out a bunch and having no power is a brutal combination. -
That is such a good point on late better than anticipation. Agree wholeheartedly.

Boy he is a cry baby. Blocked me on twitter for telling him to let it go. Miles made the right call on Arop.

Also I heard Bilas make a good point this morning. As an official you have to position yourself to be able to see the short side of the court as it nearly always gets inbounded to the short side. No official was in a position to even see if he stepped out of bounds or not. With only 1.7 seconds left it is poor officiating to not have someone in position to see areas where the ball is most likely to be thrown in to.

I agree that a foul should be called at any point in the game. I completely disagree with not having an issue on that one though. 1. Fly by allowed. 2. Kicking leg out not allowed. 3. Kicking leg out caused the contact during the fly by.

Boy he is a first class douchebag. You ought to see this awesome email exchange I had with that clown about ten years ago in regards to an NFL eliminator pool. It was pure comic gold. I had him so tilted and pissed he was wanting to meet up to fight lol.

Grill is IMO.

also could have and probably should have been five second violation.
-
Good catch. Husker4life posted right before me that the ball didn't make it to the hoop. All of the replays I was watching were just the foul portion which was horrific call.
-
yeah they got a free time out to draw up that play

I believe the airball was because he was so off balance from getting hit down low and severe launch angle he had to put on the ball to even get it off.

I don't have any problems with it either. Just don't think it would be a big deal to be announced as the coach before he goes to watch. It would not be taking any attention away from his soon, as his son doesn't get any attention anyway. Thus the difference between if it were Winston that was his son.
-
Maybe he doesn't think it is right to wear Michigan St. gear as our coach. I wouldn't have a problem with it under the circumstances.
-
This son thing is a little odd to me. If his son was Cassius Winston it would be a little different.
-
Floyd by chance? That would be awesome. Dude can flat out coach.

Edwards initiated the contact by kicking out. You do have to give the guy room to land, but if you watch again the defender did a nice job of situating his body on the fly by so Edwards would most certainly have been able to land. It should have been a no call at the very least and the only call that should be considered is an offensive foul for kicking the leg out in a neutral space. The defender is every bit as entitled to that space as Edwards is.

When NUstudent is this confident that something positive is happening, it gives me a lot of confidence.

Compared to Hoiberg it would be very disappointing to me at least. If we were never in a Hoiberg discussion I may not hate it as much. I worry about his style translating to the Big 10. Big time.

This would not be the answer.
