That means we would win a little less than 2 of 3 times per them. I thought the line would be 3.5. Gotta get this one. It is tricky game.
-
Thanks a bunch Throwback.
-
Yeah I think you might be right about 9-9 and getting two giving us a shot. The 2nd of the two would be a huge neutral court win over an elite team. 10-8 and one win won't give us as good a chance unless we somehow win at Mich. St. or Indiana. We need to beat someone good away from Lincoln.
-
What I fear is that we are lacking that name brand road win. Would make a huge difference if we could steal one at Michigan St(just cannot reasonably get myself to envision that) or Indiana(not likely either). Even if we stole one at Illionois and protected our court, I just don't think it is happening barring a run to semis. And that means beating an elite team on a neutral court no matter how you slice it. Just don't think we can move enough without getting that done. 10-8 would look nice, but I still think we would most likely need two in the tourney and at the very least not get creamed in quarterfinals by what would certainly be a very tough team.

Are the days of this being a one bid league over in your guys opinion?

Icedragon101>Tim Miles at RPI manipulation strategy

That lineup looks pretty good to me. I have wondered why we haven't seen it at all. I understand we cannot do it for long periods of time with both viable big men in there. But end game I like the thought. And to be able to use it end game we would need to use it a little bit at other times and a lot in practice so they get used to rotations defensively with each other. We are one player short in my view. We need one more reliable player that is a threat to put the ball in the basket. This lineup you pointed out probably has our 5 best on the court at least. That is worth something.

No, he shouldn't me moved out of lineup.

Y'know, it would not quite take a miracle ...

I get what you're saying, but at this moment in the season the results speak for themselves. However, feel free to bump this thread back up at the end of the season if (probably "when") they tank. I don't think they will finish last. I do think they are easily the worst team though. Two completely different things. -
KenPom 2013-2014 KenPom Rankings Thread

St. Johns is really awesome though. They cannot possibly be mediocre since they beat Creighton. Only the Big 10 teams and Witchita are mediocre. And Nebraska is a complete dumpster fire. That is the word here in Omaha. -
So are we all good with Benny sticking around

I know he had trouble making it to required things. That is the whole point! That is why he was kicked off the team. It was not because of Miles watching some game film to make the decision. -

I don't think theres an argument as to which player was/is better. The argument is whether the team is better with or without Biggs. And it's way better without Biggs so there's not much to argue.I would certainly argue it. I would much rather still have Biggs as an option for Miles. We are not better without him. He could sit on the bench and not play, but his ability to score is something that is needed in some matchups. Winning a couple games without him that we would have won with him also doesn't prove anything to me. But I don't want to get in a big debate about something that doesn't matter. But if Miles didn't think Biggs helped us then he wouldn't have played him. I will trust Miles over you or I to make that determination. And he certainly thought Biggs made us a better team. Ok. But Miles made the determination to let him go based on what film showed in regards to how the team looked/fared while he was on the court versus when he was on the bench. I know Biggs had a lot else going on but this is what caused Miles to pull the plug. I would argue that you can't have a cancer like that sitting on the bench (as another option for Miles), and that's what he was, a cancer. Missing shootarounds, film sessions, late for stuff, drama outside of basketball, major attitude issues...a cancer. You don't keep a cancer around (even if he's just sitting the bench) just because he might be an offensive spark. That kind of crap ruins the team regardless of the player's ability. I thought Biggs was released because of off the court issues and being late etc? Where did you hear Biggs was released because Miles thought he was bad at basketball all of a sudden? -
Can someone else please make a long stupid post so I don't have to keep seeing the same one quoted. TIA.

He is way off on his rankings then. Typically he would be more in line with Vegas, but not close on some of these.

Biggs was better than Parker. That is why he was playing over Parker. But it doesn't matter. He isn't here anymore. So Parker is better now. And hopefully he can figure out a way to not be a complete non factor on offense so he can play some. -

Upsets happen. They played way over their heads in a couple games. Doesn't mean it is expected to continue going forward. Vegas certainly in agreement. Easily the worst club in the league. Chris Collins doing a helluva job. Cause that easily worst team keeps getting road wins against decent teams. I sense some sarcastic intent here. You can keep believing that NW is good if you want. I will continue to be correct in believing they are easily the worst team. Not close. Ask yourself who you would most want to play in the Big 10 tourney if we knew we needed one win to secure a bid. If you tell yourself it is anyone but them you are quite simply making a horrific determination. -
I would predict a loss at Illinois and agree with the rest.

Right now our conference only SOS is #1 most difficult for B1G teams according to KenPom. Yes, it eases up quite a bit down the stretch but I would doubt our conference SOS falls outside the top half of the conference despite the ease of our remaining games (compared to the start). Well, keep in mind we don't play ourselves and we are one of the bottom teams, so that factors in. But when we play the other 5 worst teams all twice and only play 1 of the top 3 teams twice, I would say it is as easy as it could possibly be and it will not help us when evaluated with other members of league.
-
Dangerous club. They are more than capable of walking into our building and winning. I don't think they will, but they certainly have as much or more talent as we do.
-
We have to remember our Big 10 schedule is about as easy as it could be. That will hurt us.
-
Obviously we could. But my goal is to make the dance each and every year. So you can be damn sure I am going to be paying attention to what is needed to make it. Doesn't mean I think will, but I want to be aware of what is going on. And it makes no difference whatsoever what we are worried about anyway. It is what the team is worried about that matters. This nonsense about the fans having to only worry about the next game is ludicrous IMO.
-
Yeah, OK Creightonistas, now we see how you really are.

I was just getting ready to ask how many Big East teams were likely to make the dance. Now I don't have to. -

What I do know is that we may not have won this game today without a couple of huge plays by Parker. He also hit some key jumpers to maintain cushion against Minny. I don't personally like him in the lineup at this point, but will give credit where credit is due. And I hope he continues to play with confidence when he is in there. If he can provide a little bit of offense and make good decisions then the other 4 guys can do the scoring. Starting to open up to him playing more since I don't think Tai is very reliable at this point. I think Parker is a guy we can use on the road. We need to play slower on the road and he won't get turned over and won't make a bunch of stupid plays. At home I probably prefer to go with the more aggressive squad. Either way, I hope like hell Parker can prove me wrong when he is in there. We are going to need him to it looks like.
