  1. That is not a good sign at all obviously. The one bright side is that these types of things are not quite as lazor like accurate, even though they are sort of using projected outcomes, which are based on projected lines. Yes would seem to have a little bit of value. But the odds are not good. FYI, the more mainstream the wager, the more tight the line will be.
  2. Curious why you think that helped us? I was trying to figure out who would be best, and while I found myself pulling for Indiana, I couldn't really figure out a good reason why. Hope you are correct.
  3. Me neither. Will be a tough task.
  4. 1. I certainly have not made your point for you. I do not agree with your logic at all. I said exactly why I disagree with it. That is the opposite of making a point for you. 2. Obviously a neutral court win is better than a home court win(against the same team). I think we all know that. 3. I hardly ever agree or disagree with any given person all the time. Lunardi would be included. I do generally think he has a pretty good idea what he is talking about. Not sure what difference that makes anyway. He would also agree that Nebraska would be better off as a 4 seed over a 5 seed. Beating the worst team is not going to help much. And can eliminate us. 4. Conference position is certainly important. If you finish 4th in the one of the best conferences, it would be extremely rare to not get a bid. I don't think we will ever see a Big 10 team with a bye not dance. Obviously you think it could happen. And that is your right. 5. Minnesota can't do better than 8-10. And you do not know they will make it either. If they do, it will be because of good out of conference play and strength of schedule. That stuff matters a lot more than beating the worst team in the first round of the conference tourney. 6. You are completely using flawed logic at the end. For starters we would not likely be 8 point dogs coming off a bye in the quarterfinal round. And you say we would be favored in round 1. You are correct. But do you understand how small of a favorite we will be? And what the chances are of losing such a game? Doesn't seem like it. It is best to avoid that game, even though it could give us a very slight RPI jump. And we would have that same game anyway next round, that you think we would be 8 point dogs in. Not to mention it is possible the 12 seed wins. And then we would have a dream situation in the quarterfinals. I really don't see us finishing top 4 in league and in tourney and missing dance.
  5. I think Lanigan is underestimating our chances of already being in the dance if we are 4th in Big 10. Also seems to be overestimating the benefit the amount of help a win over the last place team would do us. It would be a deal breaking loss. And he is also far too confident in our chances of winning such a game. We would be 3 point or less favorites over all of them but NW. And he is drastically underestimating the importance of fresh legs in quarterfinal and more time to prepare for our likely opponent. We play Penn St. or something in that 5-12 game we have to certainly use our prep time on that game. We will be a 2 or 3 point favorite in game. That prevents us from preparing for the quarterfinal team which we could do if we had the bye. Those are the main reasons I don't agree at all with that logic. There is no win requirement to make the NCAA tourney.
  6. No question in my mind at all. We certainly would want to be the 4 seed. That quarterfinal game will be a ballgame that can put us in the dance. I would much rather have fresh legs and another scouting opportunity before likely playing the 5 seed. This is much better than the very small benefit a win over the 12 seed would do us. And the other thing to keep in mind is that we would be a very tiny favorite over anyone but NW. It would be a very loseable game. No thanks wishing to play in that thing over a 4 seed.
  7. Dead on about being a bigger problem when they are drifting left and right. Actually have tried to figure out if that is the case with him. I was thinking that was the case, but obviously it must be for sure with your eye telling you that. Even last night I was wondering if he was just way too long when he about shattered the glass on that trey. Wasn't sure. I think we need to put him in the starting lineup for Tai. Design a play or two early to free him up. If he is nowhere near, get him out. If he makes one or two, he may get it back. And him getting it back would be ridiculously huge for us.
  8. Dangerous either way, but more dangerous if they keep rolling. Senior night for Sheehey, who is playing better lately. It is going to be tough either way. One things to go on road when you have more talent and a variety of ways to score. This will be an entirely different deal than that though.
  9. Seemed they were very engaged against Wisconsin. They are young and have not played too well on the road. That is much different than mailing it in. I could be wrong, but they certainly have not shown me that side. Losing does not mean you are mailing it in. Not this year in this league.
  10. Do we ever seem to do well when the damn thing gets delayed by programming? I remember one year in NCAA tourney it was too much to ask for us to see the start of the Uconn game. About 5 minutes in we were getting our ass kicked by 10 or so it seemed and never a game. Just hate when we cannot watch from the outset. Never seems to end well.
  11. I agree that it doesn't matter much, but I would have given it to Smith. He really helped us hang in there for as long as we did.
  12. You were not watching the emotion of the Indiana players on the road against NW if you think they packed it in for the season. They have certainly not done that. Programs like Indiana do not do that.
  13. For NCAA tourney purposes we do seem to need to care about them IMO. Just beating them in league may not be good enough to get in over them.
  14. I agree that we wanted Minny to lose. Not because of how many teams a league will get in, but because they are a bubble team like we are.
  15. My goal every year for all of my crappy teams I root for is to win the championship. I am ultra competitive though. In NCAA basketball you cannot do that unless you play in the tourney that determines that champion. That is why the NIT does not do it for me for some reason. But I completely understand and appreciate those that would consider it a good year in the 2nd year of the Miles era.
  16. Always appreciate the advice, royal. No problem. Not often I am so frustrated by winning a large wager. But try to keep the two things separate.
  17. Chances are probably close to 5-10% with a loss to Indiana and Wisconsin. 19-14 just really doesn't cut it. Yeah you are probably right.
  18. Yes I think there is at least a decent chance. It would be a big win in the quarterfinal game over either Michigan St, Wisconsin or Michigan most likely.
  19. We need a combo guard that is ready to play next year and make a difference. Juco most likely. We need another scorer badly. And preferably one that can make threes. And has to be willing on defensive end.
  20. I highly doubt Rasmussen hates Nebraska. It is a large group(although not most Creighton fans) that have little brother syndrome that hate Nebraska. And a large percentage of those are the people I deem to be pretty stupid message board posters. They are very jealous folks. They are jealous that our University is much more relevant than they are in the college sports landscape. They are jealous that they know we are in a better league and are making big time strides. And they are jealous that we have a way better basketball message board than they do, even though we are not a great basketball team at this point and they are. I don't believe Rasmussen has those qualities.
  21. Life is not all or nothing. We weren't great yesterday and we aren't terrible tonight. Ray's playing great defense and is always one of the hardest workers in the motion offense. For one thing he is not getting anywhere the number of shots as last year, partly because he isn't getting any sets run for him this season. That is not his role this year. It would be great for him to have a break out game. It may or may not happen, he has always been a streak shooter. Ray can play a bit. He has his weaknesses but I'm sure he could destroy anyone on this message board. He has dealt extremely well with going from being the go to guy to accepting his role off the bench. Most, and I mean most D-1 players couldn't deal with that. I'm sorry you feel bad about THEIR loss tonight, but insulting Ray is just childish. If you ever played I'll bet you were a finger pointer there as well. From what I can see, Ray is a great teammate. I'm sure he feels much worse than you because he is physically, mentally and emotionally invested as part of the team. As a fan I'm sorry they lost as well. Ray plays hard. He plays with heart. He is one of our guys. I'm rooting for him. Us Always.I stand by my statement. Right now Rey is not good. And hasn't been for some time. I realize we don't really have any other options and are just going to have to hope he can hit a few shots down the stretch. Respect your posting, but sometimes you use a bit too many absolutes. Not everything always has to be looked at in extremes.
  22. I might consider going the other way if I were Miles. We need him badly. I would put him in the lineup for Tai to start the game. And I would try to free him up early to get a couple shots. See how the shots look and if not pretty then move on. Not losing much. But could gain a lot. It isn't like Tai is lighting the world on fire anyway. And I think we have enough ball handling, especially against NW. Half the problem is Miles is not confident in him either right now. He isn't trying to free him up much. And maybe it is a deal where he is not going to recover this year. Miles would obviously know better than I would. But I am not giving up on him. A trey or two going in the basket can change a lot.
  23. We need to focus on the mental aspect mostly for NW. Keep em off their feet a bit. Reload and regroup. We need to be fresh going to Indiana with a nice solid win. Not likely we will win at Indiana either but we can.
  24. Never in it after that damn banked in three.
  25. That would be a rather easy one. You might need to do it through stub hub or something though for peace of mind. But you could probably easily get one there very cheaply.
