HHCC Game #29 - vs. Minnesota (Feb. 25, 2:30 PM CST

Huskers. 69 Goophers. 63 -
Let's hope so. Seems like any time there's a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel for Nebrasketball (honestly, this applies to most Nebraska sports programs in recent years), they find a way to crap the bed against a bad team. Cannot lose at home to the obvious conference doormat. Need to beat them soundly and any advantage is welcome.
-
With Brown, though, it's the default setting.
-
I don't give a rat's patoot how good your conference is perceived to be, if you can't win more than 1/3 of your conference games, you absolutely do not belong in any conversation concerning the NCAA tournament, no matter what some silly metric ranking says (e.g., West Virginia & Texas Tech). I'd rather see some lesser conference team that had a great season but didn't win their tournament get a shot. At least there would be a story of interest for the first game with a potential cinderella. Nobody, and I mean nobody, outside West Virginia has any interest in a WVU game. I actually know a handful of West Virginians who are sports fans and they're not even very interested.

She's a piece of work, for sure.

I think it's in the first segment of the day. Look down the page for 8336 - PBA was packed on both Saturday and Sunday for Husker hoops…did Nebraska get blanked this weekend or pull through in men’s hoops?

Maryland (18-8) vs. Nebraska (13-14) Game Thread

Yeah, definitely some truth to that take. I kind of wish there was some way for the game to revert backwards a bit with regard to physicality, meaning things were more free-flowing without all the hard contact. Obviously not going to happen with the speed, size, strength and athleticism of today's players versus the past, but somehow I don't think basketball was meant to be 'football on a hardcourt' that we tend to see anymore, especially in the B1G. -

That's what ticks me off the most about the typical Three Blind Mice performance - the inconsistency. Aggravated assault is allowed for long stretches and then on a turn of a dime, every little ticky-tack contact is called. I get that it's not an easy job, but at least make some effort to gravitate toward consistency for 40 minutes. If you're gonna let 'em brawl, let 'em brawl the whole way. If you're gonna call it close, do it the entire game. -

OT: We've just reached FranCon 1 in the Iowegia-NW game! Ejected from the game! -

Don't win this without making FTs. I'm sure they've been working on them, but I think the confidence they've gained over the last couple of weeks just finding some wins contributes just as much to the success at the charity stripe. Great job, guys. Keep it going! -

Sam Effin' Hoiberg!!!!! -
Story of this team: score 1st to get within 4, get a stop and then a turnover on an inexcusable lazy pass leading to a big run by Iowa.
-
Good grief, B1G. Did you really think it was necessary to insert a full length of half-time Iowegia slobberfest?

No more doubt. Hate to say it, but Williams has to go. 95 points surrendered in a loss to a horrible 13th place team and loss to horrible Rutgers team. Simply cannot happen.
-
Sounds like another inexcusable loss in the making. Team is soft.
-
Great job by the coaching staff to throw Buttgers off their game!

Yeah, I noticed that also. 'Inexplicable' is being kind. '#$@#$&%^ ridiculous' is more like it. -

That would be beautiful, for sure. But, them damn computers sure love them some Crayton. 14 NET ranking and 5-seed before tonight in E-Span bracketology. They've got 5 games left with 3 gimmes and the only tough opponent at home. Loss tonight won't hurt them much. Man, I hate them sweater-vested d-bags. -
Watched the 2nd half of Michigan @ Wisconsin. The ditch weasel fan base booed Hunter Dickinson every time he touched the ball. Wonder if Felicia has fired up her keyboard to bitch out the fan base of the drunken institution her precious nephew decided to attend. P.S.: Hunter Dickinson deserves to be booed, but that's beside the point.

The fact that every one of them sucks is quite remarkable. Are there brain cells in hair? -

I made a comment somewhere else that unfortunately, knowing Nebrasketball, this little spurt has the odds of losing to this year's doormat, the Goophers, rising exponentially. -

Also, had to love Keisei's 3 after picking up the loose ball at the free-throw line extended on the defensive end! As the Rutgers guy moved away toward the other side of the court and the camera panned toward the other end, you knew he was going to shoot a bomb as soon as he made the first dribble - they left the whole side of the court open. Another thing, did Brian Butch correctly identify either team the entire night? Good lord, he was struggling. -

Pikiell: I'll bet an Andre Hyatt. Hoiberg: I'll see your Andre Hyatt and raise you a C.J. Wilcher. Don't think many had those 2 going off for season best performances. Thank the basketball gods that Wilcher chose tonight to come out of his funk. Hopefully it gives him confidence going forward. Now to work on his passing - oof.
