  1. Yep, the game was pretty much over after 5 minutes. NU battled but couldn't get over the hump after the terrible start. I agree Michigan is better without Hillmon - the rest of the team is freed up not trying to force the ball to 1 player. Their game plan to double team NU's smaller guards and force them 35 feet away from the basket was well done. That said, Nebraska needs to make a few shots - they had some chances. Indiana lost to MSU tonight. Go figure.
  2. Creighton: check. Iowa: check. Who's next on the most hated list? Wisconsin? Michigan? Ohio State? These guys are fun to watch. The effort tonight was off the charts. Pretty much out hustled Iowegia the entire game. Liked the balanced scoring. So nice to not have to watch hero-ball on 75% of the possessions. The officials made some real head-scratching calls. They evened out over the full 40 minutes, but, as usual, most of them got NU big guys in foul trouble. Nice job by Oleg to give a few meaningful minutes. Robraca's a pretty good ball player, but man, what a crybaby.
  3. That would've been a tough one to lose, considering the fairly big lead right before half and what seemed like many chances to make a shot or FT down the stretch. That being said, great job battling until they could finally hit a couple of big shots in 3rd OT. Hope that everyone can get and/or stay relatively healthy for the rest of the year. That would nice Christmas present for the program.
  4. Good point. The set-winning point for Oregon in the ridiculously long set 4 was a rocket that hit the Oregon player in the shoulder and bounced over the net and NU couldn't cover, mostly, I think, because they thought there was no way that spike could ever be handled. As they say, sometimes better to be lucky than good.
  5. Have to let her ease out of the v-ball mindset and into the b-ball mindset! It's probably much more fun trying to smack the ball into an opposing players face.
  6. It's gotta be the shimmy!
  7. Same old, same old Nebrasketball. Just can't shoot the ball. A few games sprinkled in throughout the season where a couple of guys get hot, but no consistency. If they can keep up the defensive intensity and ugly up the games, they'll still win a few, but you simply can't win consistently when you can't put the ball through the hoop. KSU was very active on the defensive end and exposed NU's lack of ball-handlers.
  8. My grandpa used the term quite often and to honor his memory I 'lovingly' address my many nieces and nephews as such. Just because.
  9. If I'm reading the chart correctly, NU's free throw shooting defense is fantastic!
  10. Wow! Never saw this kind of win coming with the way the ladies have been playing recently. Keep it going!
  11. This was a fantastic effort. Defense and rebounding especially, are often more about effort than size and skill (but it sure is nice to have good size all across the lineup). If NU can harness this, they can do some damage in the B1G. GBR!!!
  12. And good ol' 'Plantation' McDoofus nearly had a hernia crying for a foul for his baby after every one of them.
  13. Man it felt good to dictate the way the game was going to be played to those sweatervested dorks, for once!
  14. I think the ranked in the teens women's team lost today also. The early Christmas presents really rolled in the last couple of days!
  15. Bowling!! That's about it. Maybe rifle. Generally non-competitive in everything else. It's quite sad.
  16. First and foremost, Nebraska needs to find a way to not be down 33-7 at the under 12 TO. Seems like that's the typical way the games in this matchup start.

  18. I only saw the last 2 minutes of the first half and then the second half. First live action I've seen this year. It was awful nice of BC to make the half time decision to honor their host and come out and attempt a spot on impersonation of a typical Nebrasketball shooting performance. I give them an A+ with bonus points for that. As stated elsewhere, Nebraska's defensive work in the 2nd half sure helped in that regard. Definitely a fun game to watch. Those type of games have certainly been few and far between over the last several years. This team does seem to have a good chemistry. Hopefully they can keep building on that, get a few upsets along the way and prove my season prediction horribly wrong.
