  1. Your choices are solid, as are everyone's. I just got a kick out of the list I googled, several people here used the exact same videos that were on the list. Nothing wrong with that. It's the technological world we live in. I'm just stuck in the 70's...(happily so).
  2. Along those lines... Original Billy Joel. Not bad. Remake, better.
  3. Just for squirts and giggles, I googled the best covers of all time. Some of you should be ashamed...
  4. Fred Hoiberg has done a complete remake of the roster for this upcoming season. Someone posted weeks ago about doing an Original/Remake song thread in the off-season. Kudos to you, mark that post and you have a steak coming your way. Remakes can be really good. Oftentimes, not so much. I KNOW this Husker remake will be a huge success. Anyway... The Contest: As a rock and roll fanatic, original songs 90 per cent of the time are better than remakes. However, there are covers that are so much better than the original song. Here's the deal: Post your remake song you think kicks the ass of the original. Name the original artist and post the remake video, and you're part of the contest. The winner will be determined by how many upvotes he/she gets. The winner gets 2 14 oz Nebraska Star Beef Ribeyes, plus a six pack of Lucky Beef jerky. The contest will conclude in a couple weeks. I'll provide an example: Angry Bruce Springsteen. Kick ass remake:
  5. Tell them to update. When you google, they lack.
  6. They've grown. Maybe they should let people know... However, if they've grown, maybe they don't need to.
  7. I think the last time 84th Street was referred to as west Omaha, Moe Iba was buying egg cartons...
  8. Our last 5 A.D.s before Moos: Devaney, Byrne, Pederson, Osborne, Eichorst. Where would you rank him among them? I can make an argument for number 1.
  9. Someone our age worries about breaking a hip....
  10. A newly found lost Whitney recording. I like Steve's better. Which leads me to the next cip contest revealed next week.
  11. Not only that, but the jackwads who wanted to spread the drunken stories. Shame on them.
  12. I think he would have survived had the sheep been alive....
  13. Transfer? Trying to suck up to the new staff, Dimes? That won't get you a press pass....
  14. They have more moronic rules than Mrs. cip...
  15. Chris Heady had a fabulous article in today's OWH about Roby. One little snippet: "In a visit one night in Dixon, Miles laid out where he saw Roby's future. An NCAA tournament win at Nebraska, the first in history. And, after that, the pros. "Isaiah," Miles said that night. "I want you to be my first NBA draft pick." One more: One time, at halftime of a game near the end of Nebraska's season, all three assistant coaches and Miles sat Roby down on a stool in the locker room. "Shoot it. Don't hesitate. Just shoot it," a coach told Roby. "Every time? You want me to shoot it every time I get the ball?" Roby asked. "Yes!" the four coaches shouted in unison. The rest of the locker room laughed.
  16. His footwork would serve him well, there. Lot of human feces to dodge on the streets. ?
  17. Gary Novotny is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He helped us with my son Seth's fundraiser. Not bagging on you, huskerpapa, just wanted to give him some props!
  18. Danny was my favorite. He took this program to a level it had never been. Unfortunately, when it plateaued, he was replaced by Collier. Talk about a meh hire. Fast forward to 2019. Tim Miles brings excitement and life to a program that begged for any type of attention. He plateaued, in comes Fred Hoiberg. GBFRED! Happy Birthday, Danny!
  19. For all you procrastinators, entries submitted before the draft on Thursday will be eligible. Good luck!
  20. That was my point. He now lives under the Arkansas curse. Besides all the cross country and track titles, the only national championship they have in the men's sports is a 1994 basketball championship under Nolan Richardson.
  21. The NBA isn't the only draft where NU has fallen on hard times. NFL and MLB have been really lacking as of late. The good news is, it's all about to change in all 3 sports. Take that, B1G!
  22. I absolutely love DVH. Had he stayed at NU, he would have had his national championship by now. He lives under the curse of pig sooeey. Dana was smart enough to run like hell away from them. GBR! (Go Bolt Red)
  23. That Moos statue getting erected would definitely have graffiti on it.
  24. The one team I want to cheer against knocked out Creighton. I'm so conflicted...
