Heard from a few on a rumor that Alicia Ostrander may be mulling over applying for a medical redshirt.

 

If you noticed, she wasn’t mentioned in any publication with the departing seniors or was honored on the court on Senior day with any of the out-going seniors but yet she was there and suited up. Plus, she still has to finish her degree so another year under scholarship would be a big help to her.

 

Win-win situation. Should she get it, it would help out tremendously on next years rebounding front and any scoring she could muster. Also should she get it she would be able to play the whole season providing her torn achilles heel heals fine. I was in hopes to get to see her play this past season and was disappointed that she never got the chance.

 

Mine you it’s just a rumor floating around……for now anyway.

 

I for one would like to see her apply and get it!

will just pass along matt coatney's comments about senior day. tifwiw-----he stated alicia decided not to participate in the senior day event because she had already participated in them with the volleyball squad. now, if there is any truth to the rumor floating out there, it's possible that may be the real reason why. the idea of applying for a medical crossed my mind almost immediately after i had seen the headlines. since i didn't see anything about that possibility, i just kinda blew it off as a moot point.

 

since the topic has come up, anyone know about returning to action after having an achilles heal injury? i always thought that was a real difficult one to come back from-----i could be totally wrong.

Haven't felt like posting sice Ostrander's injury, saw this and it makes me happy.

Also want to compliment the admins here for doing an outstanding job taking care of this site. I'm impressed, but not surprised. Go Big Red!
