I kind of wish there was a more quality opponent before UCONN but here we are. Haven't watched the Huskies at all this season so it will be fun either way. I like this team though. I feel like maybe Clark hasn't fit in the way I thought. Like maybe she could use some pressure to get there :D

I can't say it enough, I love to watch that Romeo chic play this game!

Now it's UConn lets hope we can give a good showing. Kind of wish we had a little stiffer test leading up to this game but it is what it is. Can't wait!

I do like this team - A LOT.  My daughter told me she enjoys watching the girls more this year than in previous years because they like to run.  It really helps to have that depth.  Crossing my fingers that everyone stays healthy this season and the team continues to improve.

We just seem to play better when we play fast, like last night. Don't mean hurried, but when we play freely, and not so many "called" plays (like last year), we simply play better and score more quickly, by more people. We have the girls to do it. Don't need to rely on Theriot so much.

Actually we now play a little like a UConn that doesn't really run set offense, but they're more of a one on one free style. They pass extremely well..few turnovers...talented individuals.

Overall we're better shooters, we shoot for a better percentage than last year. Granted so far the defenses aren't great.

Kalenta and Havers may be the most improved. Really are contributing in ways they didn't so much last year. Havers has some new offense she's apparently working on....still say she should have been red shirted as freshman. But probably wasn't possible given the need for bigs at the time. But she's more proficient rebounding, blocking shots...just has picked up her game overall. Last night may have been her best game. Seems to be more confident.

Kalenta too....defense is improved.... and she one of the better under 15' shooters on the team.

Last year we played lots of slow down....set up the offense, we had to so we didn't wear out the starters, Now we have a deep bench, with good balance between bigs, wings, guards.  We're fresh most of the time.

Said before, it's so great everyone is getting to play. Not sure how long that will last, but we might still have a 8 to 10 player rotation in tight games. Ostrander may be a factor too at some point.

Next year we'll be different. Clark, Kalenta, Rachel T, Ostrander will be gone. It will change the complexion of the team. In some senses we'll be a young team.

The game last night? Maybe our best overall so far. First half in particular. ....but weak opponent.  Need to learn how to play a complete game.

Everyone getting lots of floor time so far has made a difference.

Sorry for the too long post...bye

I really wish we had Tennessee and Stanford on the schedule.  I suspect we could beat at least one of those teams, if not both. Way over-rated this year IMO, but a win over either one would be viewed as a quality win.  Louisville hasn't even won a game yet, they are also over-rated.  Maybe we can get Stanford on the schedule next year.

I think Cal and NCState could be good games.

The thing with UConn this weekend is not to let them get between our ears.  That's when discombobulation happens.  Play as a team - so far, we have been good at that against weak opponents.

just curious. anyone know what other offers Maddie Simon had available to her? what little i have seen, i sure am impressed with her game. handles ball very well, really impressed with her jumpshot (form-wise), moves very well. could she turn out to be the "steal" of the 2015 class? she can create some tough mismatches.

husker followers knew what the huskers were getting with all the talk of rb43 and jess, but, simon is also very impressive.

I looked back on the 2015 recruit page and it said offers from Creighton and Iowa State with interest from quite a few others (including Maryland).  Not sure which of those became solid offers.

I do think she is a steal for Connie.  She will keep getting better and better, and her length and athleticism are wonderful to have.

Issues with widespread recruiting for Maddie:  (1) It would be uphill from the beginning, since her mom was an athlete at UNL, and her dad hails from Nebraska, (2) she had to be projected to a college position, since she played a ton of point guard in high school and would be a wing in college, and (3) Her outside shot.

If she can improve her outside shot, I think she will end up as a very high level player, vs. a decent D1 player.  I know Connie is pleased with Maddie's work in that area--pleasantly surprised so far.

Maddie, as well as Jess, and RB43, have started off great this year. We just have seemed to gel fast overall as a team. Still need better defense, and on the gas pedal for a full 4 qtrs,..... but excellent progress for sure.

Willing to bet we'll see even better play next year out of the freshman, Just like Romeo and Jazz have improved this year,  Maddie's shooting has shown improvement already. Looks like she gotten more comfortable on the floor...she has a high ceiling down the road.

With other "upper" class players obvious improvement, it's going to be a great year. 4-0 and going onward and upward.

One of the things I like best is we have several scorers. Many can put up points on the board, at any given time. That makes us dangerous.  :D
