Oct 31 huh? All kinds of costumes can be thought of to get us in. I will start with a dumpster. Large enough to sit and with a lid so they can't see me. Also might get lucky and get some snacks thrown in.

You might want to save that costume for the football game.

Not a good idea, It might catch fire if he wore it to the football game...

If not that, then someone might open the lid and barf in it.  Either way, not sure I'd risk the dumpster (fire) costume.

Okay, so nearing the midway point of the season we have an identical record to Texas.  2-4.  Lets compare resumes, shall we?

Nebraska:

  • No wins of real note (South Alabama and Southern Miss)
  • No blowout losses
  • 2 out of 4 losses came to teams that have been ranked at some point in the season (Miami and Illinois have only made it to "others receiving votes")
  • 4 of 4 losses came in, or after, the final 30 seconds of the game, each of which Nebraska led or was tied in.

Texas:

  • One massive win (against #10 Oklahoma) and a lackluster win at home vs. Rice
  • Three blowout losses (to #11 Notre Dame, #24 Oklahoma State and #4 TCU) and one close loss to Cal (who is currently ranked) on the last play of the game

Which one do you think the impartial observer would choose as being less hideous?

I would guess Texas. Mainly because all of their losses were from ranked teams and they did have one solid win. Now, if we had an Oklahoma-esk win, I'd think that would put us on top. So depressing.

Okay since we last visited this thread Nebraska has gone 2-2 and Texas 2-1.

Nebraska (4-6):

  • A win on the road at Minnesota
  • A loss at home to a fairly salty Northwestern team
  • A horrible loss at Purdue (with Ryker Fife filling in for an injured Armstrong)
  • A huge upset win against #7 Michigan State

Texas (4-5):

  • Home wins vs. Kansas State (3-5, 0-5) and Kansas (0-9)
  • A road loss in a shutout to Iowa State

So far I'd say things are looking fairly even between the two programs.
