Norm Peterson Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 Useful info ajb, but physicians should refrain from treating their own families in serious situations. Perhaps they are obtaining a third opinion, or perhaps there is a medical difference of opinion with dad here. Regardless, we shall hope to see young Michael on the court soon. YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS TELLING SOME DOCTOR WHETHER HE SHOULD BE OFFERING OPINIONS ON THE CARE OF HIS OWN SON. WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS IS? A DISCUSSION BOARD OR SOMETHING? Oh, wait ... Hang on a sec ... Just checked. And ... This is a discussion board. I guess nevermind. Well, now that we have that cleared up, I guess allow me to interject my opinion as well. And, just a quick disclaimer here: I'm not a doctor. I haven't seen any scans or tests. Nor have I examined the patient. But I saw something like this on an episode of "House," once. And I think they should check his chromosomes because it's possible he's a transgender girl. Also, check to see if his urine is blue. He might have porphyria. Quote

Norm Peterson Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 "Now, Son, we need to play this injury situation close to the vest. You never know what other coaches will be browsing on-line looking for injury information that they could exploit later on. That McCaffrey bastard is famous for that." "But, Dad, the fans! They want to know I'm OK!" "Son, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Fans should be kept in the dark and fed as little information as possible. Otherwise, they might post something to the internet and all hell could break loose." "Dad, I hear ya. But my public awaits word of my health. Right now, in a retirement home somewhere in south Lincoln, there are probably legions of old guys worrying whether I have porphyria and speculating whether my urine is blue or not. They persist in ignorance. I CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN!" "Ok, Son, I can see you feel strongly about this. But how will you get the word out?" "I'll call up Bryan Rosenthal. He'll officially tweet it." jimmykc and HB 2 Quote

hhcmatt Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 This sounds suspiciously like a stress fracture to me. If so, a redshirt year might be in the offing although I have absolutely no inside information and this is sheer speculation. Not long after the team returned from Spain in late August, Jacobson stepped on somebody’s foot in a workout. He felt a shooting pain and had X-rays that revealed a stress fracture. NAILED IT Quote
jimmykc Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 The University should put me on the payroll. I would be a lot cheaper than an x-ray machine. I just hope this is an isolated problem and not the congenital foot bone deformity which cut Bill Walton's career short. On the other hand, Bill did pretty well on his college team. Quote
hhcmatt Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 Miles' presser touched on him expecting Jacobson to have a significant role this year at the 4/5. He also said he's going to be limited until he works up to that so he doesn't expect him to play much until after the Villinova game though he should be available. Quote
