Perhaps a useless topic, but one I was interested enough in researching. Terran has committed 116 fouls in 31 games (3.7 per game). He has fouled out of 5 games (UMASS, @Creighton, Arkansas State, Illinois, and Ohio State). It seems he always gets 1-2 "stupid" fouls where he misses a shot and quickly reaches in and fouls. Maybe it's frustration. I know he's a competitor and works his tail off, just hate to see when he misses a shot and hangs his head. That being said, I'm very happy he is a Husker and am excited to see how his game evolves. GBR!

Well, that last foul the refs called on him was total B.S.  LaQuinton Ross traveled BADLY, and then there appeared to a lil' contact w/ Terran.

The really crappy part is that Shavon got called for a travel on the very next possession (a few seconds later than the non-call on Ross' travel + Terran foul-out play). So it went from 'even' to essentially OSU up by 4, when it would have likely been 'even' or possibly NU up otherwise w/ less than 50 sec to play.

Hopefully those difficult late-game decisions will teach the type of situation that NU needs to square in order to handle them better in the Big Dance. It's hard to learn & grow, but Terran, Shavon & Walt will do so (perhaps by next weekend).

You're right. He has at least 2 stupid fouls a game. It's annoying. Hopefully it doesn't happen in the Big Dance.

In this case it's hard for a tiger to change its stripes so quickly. I think you have to come to expect it this year and hopefully work with him in the offseason with some mental toughness to not break down defensively when things aren't going well.

To me it's not just when things aren't going well, he's just so darn competitive and confident that he thinks he can ALWAYS make a play. It's a blessing and a curse.

Terran does need to work on his composure.  It got him in trouble at TT (where he clocked a guy during a game) & he's shown signs of frustration this year for us.  During the OSU run today he really showed signs of having a full mental breakdown.  He drove his shoulder into a OSU guy during a fast break (which could have easily been an intentional foul) & he almost broke out into tears late in the 2nd half. Opponents will notice this & they'll do everything to get in his head.

He's our best player & one of our leaders (with Shavon), so he'll need to work thru this to take his game & us to the next level.  From what I can tell he's a really good kid, so I hope this doesn't become something that snowballs or becomes a larger issue in his career (Miles did compare him to Sprewell though).  The dumb fouls are just one of those signs of lack of composure.

He's young & he wants to be great, so my money is on Terran to continue to grow & learn to put on his "alligator skin" so things don't get to him.

Terran needs to learn that it is far more important that we have him on the court for offense than the slim chance that he might make a clean steal while risking an obvious foul call. His early fouls are always very dumb and ticky tack, but he shouldn't be giving refs those chances.

I agree with you...while I wonder why the Huskers got away from working with Dr. Jack Stark on these kind of issues.

He sure did a great job back in the day.

Do they have anyone similar now that works with the athletes?

He also works with NASCAR’s Hendrick Motorsports Team (winner of 5 straight national championships)...or so I am told...as this is something I do not follow.

Yet, I would guess he still could find time for the Huskers...

I think he still serves on the faculty of the Nebraska Medical Center’s Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics as a professor of medical psychology.
