Just curious what others think about the bringing in of transfers (once they have made known their intentions to transfer) from other schools as a viable recruiting tool. I'm not saying it should be based solely on transfers but should a bigger effort placed on it? Miles nailed it with Petteway and Pitchford but did he just get lucky? And with the success of those 2 could MIles use it to target and lure other potential stars?

We're coming out of the dark with transfers. The Mayor has done well with them at ISU. I think if you get a legit player and a legit transfer, then they're fair game. As long as you're not interfering with another program, I'm all for it.

It seems to be fairly low risk & potentially high reward if the coaching staff feels that the player(s) will fit in well with the team. Petteway & Pitchford certainly filled that while Biggs did not & Leslee Smith is a bit of hit-and-miss proposition depending on the matchup night-in & night-out. Hopefully Miles & Co. have targeted a type of prospect they'd be willing to entertain for 2015+!.
