Yeah, and not jsut suspended but dismissed. Can't be grades. We're smack dab in the middle of a semester so if it was grades, it would have happened in August. All of these coaches use some type of progressive discipline where you don't reach the level of dismissal until there've been repeated offenses of a serious nature. Or maybe a single instance of something BIG.

I don't know Connie's program well. Certainly not as well as a lot of the folks who post over here, but it's always been my understanding from listening to her show and so forth that her rules are pretty straight-forward and everybody knows them. And considering what she did her first year here, it was pretty apparent that she's not going to bend the rules in order to keep people on the team who have effectively dismissed themselves from the program.

Best wishes for Rebecca. Truly sorry to see this young lady go. And whatever she did, I hope she gets her stuff squared away.

Not to hard to figure out what happened. Obviously not academic related and she wasn't in trouble with the law. Sometimes smart kids make poor choices and if she needs help then I hope she seeks it.

Well ... yeah. I think I know what you're saying and it was the first thing that came to my mind as well. It's not academics, obviously. And given what I know of Husker sports, this wouldn't have been her first time being caught committing this particular infraction. Too bad. What a waste on her part.

Well said my man!

This is the first time that I have followed Husker women's basketball that any player has been dismissed from the team (as opposed to graduating or leaving for "personal reasons.") This sounds somewhat suspicious, but I have no idea.

Noah, Connie dismissed a couple of Sanderford recruits shortly after she arrived. Off the top of my head without looking I'm thinking Paige something and Shannon Howell. Am I close? Anyway, I remember Connie being asked about players getting dismissed for violations of team rules and she said at the time that her rules are very clear and everyone understands them. No excuses.

It's sad to see a player with such promise leave the team, but my inclination is to think that she would have known where she stood and crossed a line a final time. No inside knowledge. Just going off of what I've observed.

Looked it up. I do believe it was Paige Sutton and Shannon Howell. Two good players for a team that had no luxury of depth at the time. And she dismissed them both if I remember correctly. The reason I remember that the question was asked of Connie at the time was because some people thought she was coming in and being a hard azz to lay down the law, so to speak. And Connie's response was, hey, I have very clear rules. They're easy to follow. You know where you stand and you know the consequences if you violate those rules. Period. I don't know what happened in this case, but as you've observed, Noah, it doesn't happen often.
