Oh good grief.

We lost out on a four star, while in his top 3. Minnesota graduates their point guard next year. We signed one in 2014.

We are in on some better than ever recruits.

For those who are hoping for signs of a Tim Miles demise . . . this isn't it.

Who exactly is your target audience for this post -- Bluejay fans? This has so much straw man in it that it easily could furnish the nests for 1,000 birds and still have some straw left over.  B)

Hmmmm . . . not sure what this response means -- but the sense of offense is abundantly clear.

The prior post was intended in this fashion: "If the shoe fits, wear it; but if it doesn't, don't."

Or, perhaps it would seem less offensive to some, if the last sentence were amended to read: "For those who fear, or are hoping for, signs of a Tim Miles demise . . . this isn't it."

It's a straw man argument. It's fantasy. There are no Husker fans, on this board at least, who are hoping for signs of Tim Miles' demise. That's just silly. In fact the opposite is true.

Let's keep things in perspective as Miles is trying to recruit the type of talent's we've never had here before.  Can't blame him for not landing every 4 star player that is considering us as I'm more impressed we have been so close to landing kids we've only dreamed of in the past.  And in such a short time Miles has been here.  So I'm not disappointed he hasn't landed one yet and more impressed he even getting top talent to consider it.

I feel like we lost this kid because he didn't make him seem like a big deal. When Cornish was available everyone wanted to know what he was doing and we were all waiting for his announcement. For Dorsey I haven't seen him discussed on twitter at all and no knowledge from husker fans.

I seriously doubt we lost Dorsey because not enough fans from Nebraska were tweeting him.

I'm not saying because we didn't tweet him I'm saying it seem as fans didn't exactly have a "welcome party". No one exactly cared about him as much as we did other recruits

Again, I am hoping he picked the school he did based on more than the fans not having a "welcome party" for him.  Again, have kids gotten that shallow?

Unlike Nebraska with Miles, Minnesota has a coach with some kind of pedigree.  EVERYONE knows Richard Pitino's roots.  They know his system after seeing his father run it for the better part of three decades.  Pitino's system takes good point guards and makes them great (in college at least).  For that reason alone, Dorsey's decision makes sense.

Despite his accolades and outstanding embracing to Twitter, Miles' exposure is still limited.  Give Miles time.  Once he is more established, Nebraska will be able to bring in the Dorsey's of the world.

Richard Pitino hasn't proven anything as a head coach.  Yes he's the son of a  legendary coach - so were Pat Knight, Sean Sutton, and Keno Davis.  Many times these guys are given head coaching jobs that they aren't qualified for because of their famous fathers.

Miles' system has won everywhere he's been, and he's done it without any nepotism.  The coaching job he did last year to get us to the tournament was amazing. I know that doesn't wipe away 100 years of mediocrity overnight, but you could fill a book with all of the positive press he's gotten in the national media the last 2 years.  Even fellow coaches like Izzo and Beilein have praised the heck out of him.  You'd think at least one big-time high school recruit would give us a shot.

Great point, Coach! Tim Miles has been doing it all the hard way and from scratch. That reality provides some long-haul sustainability assurances that an inheritance-based early success cannot provide.
