Nebraska has won 5 in a row, while Purdue has lost 5 in a row. Let's keep those streaks alive, no matter when the game is played. Piledrive the Boilermakers. GBR

I think the Nebraska baseball is trolling Purdue.

Looks like MSU is going to knock off Indiana - if so...

16-6 Maryland

15-7 Indiana

14-7 Iowa

14-8 NU

13-9 Rutgers

13-9 Michigan

11-11 Mich St

12-12 Illinois

----

10-12 Purdue

9-13 Minny

Karma's a bitch, Purdue.

I'd really love to catch Iowa or Indiana and get out of that #4/5 seed, but that's going to be tough with us protecting our pitching. Or it'd be nice to drop to #6 to get out of Maryland's side of the bracket.

The top 6 teams in the B1G all have a loss as their latest game, while the remainder have all won their latest game. Even NW won, they now have 10 W's to 39 L's.

Every Big Ten is within the threshold between 10 & 39 wins as well as 12 & 39 losses.

And Nebraska is still tied for its all-time HR record (93) with the 1985 squad after zero homers today in the 7-3 L at PU.

If someone is a stats guru, would be fun to know…

Our record in games where we hit…

0 home runs

1+ home runs

2+ home runs

3 - 7 hitting 0

10 - 7 hitting 1

6 - 5 - 1 hitting 2

4 - 0 hitting 3

5 - 2 hitting 4

1 - 0 hitting 5

1 - 0 hitting 7

A few big things stick out…

1. If we can find a way to homer, we’re 66% more likely to win… or maybe 66% less likely to lose.  I think the match checks out on that one.

2.  How the hell have we lost 2 games hitting 4 homers?

3. 7 homers in a game is just nuts.

We scored 12 runs total in the 2 games.  10 of the runs came on home runs.  6 solo shots and 2 2 run homers.   They say solo homers don't beat you.

The Angels had a game last season in which they hit 7 HRs, yet lost 8-7.
