An 8-run inn. is just what the doctor ordered. Huskers up 9-zip after 4 inn.

NU has scored 29 unanswered runs against those pesky Gophers.

Just like that, Minny triples & wins an appeal on a sac fly, originally ruled a double play (and no run). The 29 straight run streak is over. It's 9-1, now. GBR

Now it's 9-3 after a 2-run HR by Minny. Walsh nearly was out of the 6th inn. unscathed, but now he's given up 3 in succession.

How can you possibly overturn that?

Radio guys didn't think so.

There wasn't a replay on BTN+, Also Ben thought that the runner left early, due to the fact that the 3rd base ump made the call quick.

I didn't see the play, but I would think that overturning it would be very difficult especially with the limited camera view.

Minny sac fly, now 11-5 Big Red. Two outs, top of 9th inn. GBR

Nebraska gets the dub, surpassing last season's win total. NU now 24-16-1. Will Walsh is the winning pitcher, 6 inn. 5 K's, 3 runs allowed. He's 3-2 on the year. GBR

A good bounce back by the boys after Friday's debacle. Not getting the sweep probably ends our regular season title hopes barring a miracle, but getting 2 of 3 at least keeps on track for a decent B1G tourney seed.

It's so much easier to play from ahead. Props to the offense to get things going early and to the starting pitchers for being ready to pitch Saturday and Sunday.

Tough, tough weekend coming up. Maryland is finally playing like they were expected to prior to the season. Going to need quick starts and some breaks to go our way to win that series.

UMD ranked in Top 25, #40 in RPI, and sitting at 30-15 overall.  That series will be tough.  Us on the other hand have fallen to #124 RPI after last weeks debacle X2.

At this point, out chance of receiving an at large is probably less than 1%.  I would say it isn’t 0 because you could sweep UMD, win out, finish 36-16, win a few in the B1G tournament, and probably sneak in.  But who are we kidding we could very well sweep Maryland and then proceed to blow that CU game and lose 2-4 games the following week.

I think we’re pretty solidly in the B1G field provided we don’t lose out or anything like that.  We’re in a 3 way tie for 3rd and the 9th place team has 3 games in hand on us and is 8-10.

3 conference wins will get us to 12 - 12.  I think that should get us into the Big 10 tournament.   Realistically,  could see us finishing that way.  Get swept by Maryland, get 2 of 3 against PSU, and get 1 of 3 against Purdue.
