Good all around game.  Timely hitting and great pitching is a good combo.  Had a little rough stretch in the 6th with 2 errors, but got a big DP to get out of a bases loaded jam.

First road shutout for the Big Red in more than 2 years. The pitching and defense was mostly superb, and the offense had enough timely hitting to put up crooked numbers twice today.

 

Huskers (19-6) still lead the Big Ten by a 1/2 game over Michigan (19-7).

This team seems to have the knack of winning in a variety of ways.  Not exactly pretty yesterday, but well done.

We have not played very well today.  We have left 8 runners on base through 6 innings.

We've had the leadoff runner on base in 3 of 7 innings (including twice with a runner on 2nd and 0 outs  0 runs to show for it)  Michigan State is 8th in the Big 10 in pitching with a 5.38 ERA, we have scored 6 runs in 16 innings.  Not a great weekend so far.

Well this isn't good.

We went 15 straight games scoring more than 4 runs, prior to this weekend.  This weekend we have scored 4 and 2 runs.

It didn't seem like the offense had much energy.  After we failed to score with runners on 1st and 2nd and 0 outs in the 6th, it just seemed like we weren't going to win.

NU leads the Big Ten at 19-7 while Michigan is 19-8.
