It's new to me. McVeigh doesn't get a lot of mention when people throw out starting lineups but he was quite effective in his starts for Shavon last year and is probably the biggest 3pt threat on the team.

I happen to believe Jack will start. I also believe Roby would be in the starting five if he were at 100%. Gill is the guy people have penciled in as an assumed starter who may end up coming off the bench instead. Of course, if Jack's not hitting shots or playing good defense, all bets are off.

Miles hasn't tried to hide the fact that he feels Isaiah Roby is the most talented player he's brought to Lincoln, and he didn't bring him here to watch from the bench. I believe Isaiah's minutes at the 3 will result in McVeigh playing more 4 than 3, and perhaps Jacobson still playing a lot of 5 and less 4 than many anticipated.

I believe Jack will see good minutes at both the 3 and the 4. Roby will probably see minutes at both of those spots as well when he's back to 100%. No doubt Jack is the team's biggest 3 point threat, but there should be instances where Jack could be playing a small ball 4, maybe with Roby at the 3, or those roles could be reversed.

Reading the article, I do not think there is reason to worry. It seems the writer brought up the question of playing professionally, and Jack responded that he would not be thinking of making the jump until after his junior year at the earliest.

I agree.  The way it read was that he wouldn't consider moving to the pro ranks until after his junior year.  Personally, I believe he will be here four years.  Sounds like where others were working on building strength, Jack was working on quickness.  That is certainly warranted.  Jack has been on the QT this summer, but my hope is that he joins the other sophomores in really improving their game.

As soon as Jack elevates himself to being a consistent impact player, he's going to get offers from the NBL. It's a matter of when he feels he's ready to move on. Like Tai, I know he dreams about the NBA, but both guys can earn a nice living in their home countries playing in the NBL.

Tai has had six-figure pro offers since he was a senior in high school and has turned them down consistently. Hopefully Jack will do the same.
