UConn really held their own in the tourney, especially considering they've lost 5 players to injury this season. Hopefully we get our injured back and ready to play this upcoming season. Shows the need for a roster with back up players at all positions. Yes, the offensive blocking call with a few seconds left pretty much help decide the game. There were lots of uncalled fouls on both teams earlier.

They didn't seem to want to say what the discrepancy was exactly. At least the announcer wasn't able to get an answer. Don't know if they were both wrong.... or it was one end or what. But the caches said let's play. That's pretty weird considering it's the NCAA's.

Watching the LSU-UCLA game. Mulkey has about blown a gasket a couple of times. She's fired up ! Fun, close game to watch actually. Scores about tied middle of the the 4th.

Need more big's and length. After the NCAA tourney it would seem evident we need more length, if we want to keep up. Vey few teams in the sweet 16 don't have a couple of long 4's and 5's. The B1G is going to see more of it soon as the west coast teams come to town. it just is what it is.

Wow...dumb and dumber...Johnson played about as much as the starters. Do they get booted from the team for this kind of stuff at A&M ?

Ya know, it's really too bad. She's such a great talent...but she is classless, does stupid things.... a lot

Nebraska (23-11) vs. Oregon St. (25-7) Game Thread

Not sure where this goes, but... Agree with most of the points made here. Good stuff. The tournament play was way more physical, and to some extent quicker, than we faced all year. We, at this point aren't ready for it. Maybe that's the lesson learned this year. In some ways that's a good thing.... learned the hard way. But we got that chance to see what's really like playing in the "big time"...just getting there. All the B1G teams has the same issues. Week in and week out, we don't see physically "tough" teams. The teams coming in to the B1G, in the next couple of years may have their way with the rest of the B1G ...at first. The B1G may have to adapt to them...not the other way around. A lot more thug stuff in a lot of games I watched, not just our games. Near fights in many games. Trash talking, knocking people down (we did receive some of that) Pott's got pushed around and had her own little protest late in the game. If that's the way it's going to be in national tourneys, then we have get much tougher....or not. Another issue is getting shots off when under "stress". Much tougher to do in the NCAA's. The B1G is much less defensive minded. Easier to get set and shoot. And...lastly, opposing coaches had prepared defenses to neutralize our scorers, and executed their defense in a workman like manner. Good coaching, with a team that could adapt overnight. This was a great experience for out team. I expect they have grown up to the realities of high level play...and maybe us to a lesser extent. -

Was thinking the same thing at the half time. All these competitive teams have two or three athletic players at 6-3, 6-4 or more in some cases. It's already started, and It's just the way women's basketball is going to be in the future...bigger ...and bigger...and bigger. -

OSU had at least 10 blocks. Pretty much a huge part of why we were not scoring, But yes, a great season. Next year will be more of the same, but better....lots of wins. Lots of fun. This one stings but considering everything...the team did great. Proud of them, and to be a HUSKER ! -

Is it my imagination, but Jazz doesn't' seem to even want to shoot a three?? Crazy, we're just not getting them shot. -

Holding Oregon St to 28 in a half is no easy feat. Actually have done well in that regard. Just somehow, pick up the offense and we have a good chance. On the other hand Oregon St's coach is no rookie. Expect them to counter with more offensive schemes in the 2nd half. -

You can kind of see we're not comfortable, and kind of tight. Our guards must work harder to get free for 3's There's not a lot of point in having Markowski out front. Come on girls, women or what ever...turn the wick up, grit your teeth, and get on a mission -

Haven't ben able to post, but did watch the game. A&M's speed on defense was hard to over come. They were set up to neutralize Jazz and it worked for them. Fortunately their offense was erratic and not efficient. Then one player almost won it by herself in the second half. We got a 17 point lead then the musical chairs started. So much for the lead in the second half. We got handled in the 4th. The storage stats.... Both of the high scorers for us, Markowski and Nissley only played a little over half the game. Would think you would want to utilize them more. Markowski ended up with 3 fouls. Also I thought Moriarty played well in the first part of the game...then she just disappeared. Hit a 3 then gone to the splinters of the bench. Could have used her quickness both on the offense and defense more. A&M looked like the Rutgers of the past, but bigger. And if possible, fouled more. Oregon is a much different type of team. Hopefully we match up better....and our offense is more effective. And....after the lay off, is much more into the flow.... and when they're so dangerously good

This contract $$ puts her up the in the higher tier of the B!G, and into the top 25 nationally. Mulkey (LSU) is highest at about 3.2 mil/year ! Just above Geno and Staley at about 3 million/yr. https://frontofficesports.com/who-is-the-highest-paid-womens-college-basketball-coach/

Texas A&M (19-12) vs. Nebraska (22-11) Game Thread

Looking at A & M stats Ware is their leading rebounder per game, plus the leading shot blocker by far. Blocks a lot of shots. About 2 per game...53 total so far. Shoots only from within the lane and near the basket. The starters do most of their shooting. -
Remember her some when she was in H S locally. Naturally athletic, tall at 6-4, but looked like not enough playing experience then anyway, and was behind the curve a bit. But that's several years ago now. Haven't seen her play recent years. So no good idea where she's at playing wise. She went to Miami U at first I think out of H S ?? A one year backup at the 4 and 5 ?

looks like we play next Sat or Sunday. It makes a big difference to the selection committee, in how you preform in the last phase of the season. That's when we shined against good competition. 6 seed...It makes sense if you consider we beat Iowa, and not only beat them in Lincoln, but almost beat the no.4 team twice. ( the B1G title game was seen by an estimated 4 million on TV) Almost twice that saw the Volleyball national title game. And...we beat the darling of ESPN ....MIch St twice. Creighton no 7 seed probably reflects their schedule. All that all means noting now, it's all in the our hands to go a far as we can from here on out.

The Governor has stepped in and pretty much told the BOR to get their butts in gear and get moving on the hiring's.

The only thing that mattered to Trev....was Trev Alberts.

Agree with a lof things previously said here. After a day to reflect, it's really disappointing he chose to leave. Everyone has thier own ideas what happened to get him to jump ship. Because he basically says the admin wasn't in place. What is said in public statements usually are "cover tracks" for smoothing the transition out in this case. Just like in business, politics, athletic coaches, AD's etc etc It is seemingly, with no warning... "out of the blue". He's the AD, one of the highest ranking (and paid) positions at the university. He just got a huge raise to $1,700,000 about 8 months ago. The school made him one of the highest paid AD's in the country. He would get another $500,000 next year. He's been given everything he's ask for, and maybe more. He's was still going to get paid even without a University President in place. In some ways it would seem to be a responsibility of a leader of the university to help resolve issues, and not bail out if the going gets a bit sticky. Also, maybe he wasn't going to get his way in resolving the issues. A clash of headstrong personalities? So you take your ball and go home? Just maybe....he wasn't going to get his way ?? It's just so disappointing to have a former Husker All American, finally get his dream job, so he said, and leaves after a relatively short stent here. And leaving the way did is not good conduct. for lack of a better word.

More speculation. It's free right ? We'll see what happens in the next week or so.. It may be he just got offered a lot more money than he's making now....which is really a lot now. .... Makes sense he might leave. But should he choose to leave for the same money ? Obviously would raise a red flag to some people....considering the open lawsuit. If Alberts says he just wants to move forward to new challenges....not so sure, at this point anyway. would have think about that one. Everything's been going along great with new high dollar football coach, mega buck football facilities expansion...and a new major stadium remodel, for millions $$$$ of dollars. His work is not done here..... ..so why leave ? It's real complicated. We need to know more....but only the ones behind the scenes know what's really happening.

Extremely proud of this team. Biggest surprise team of the BIG. A couple of breaks and it's ours. Not disappointed at all. Just about... as good as it gets. GBR !
