Yep... it'll be fun. Who knows how it will actually play against real teams. But did I mention it will be fun? Let's see how we do against a team with a pulse. But this season should be a blast regardless. -

This game doesn't show much beyond being a fun team to watch this year. I'm good with that. -

2021 SG Keisei Tominaga - Juco - LOI

Good news is if he is a "mistake" that hoiberg has a lot of transfers. I'm guessing the kid can shoot though. -
Agreed with that above. Leaving would be reactionary and frankly real change is generally rejected by the establishment. When it comes down to it, this desired uniformity from the powers that be is honestly juvenile as hell. Adults disagree. Grow a pair. The rest is going to take time.

I can see their point. I just don't think it's going to happen on many levels and I'd rather have Moos etc. go back to the B1G and say "if you want us to be quiet then stop being jackasses". Why? Because there's a lot more involved than just one football season. and while i'm glad they're raising a stink, i'm also glad that we're fully vested in the conference so we CAN raise a stink and not have them find a legal way to boot us out without extreme consequences. i also believe warren will either be fired or will resign within 6 months. and that at some point there's going to be a reckoning here. to be honest, the adults in the conference boardrooms need to step up. they aren't visible right now. How much of that is on warren I have no idea but he's going to be the guy to take the fall for it.

Trey McGowens Eligible for the 2020-21 season
kleitus replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Exactly. Don't get me wrong Chuck was a special case. But even in today's game finding a guy who can board and hit the 3 isn't all that common. Even if he's just a college version light that plays right into hoibergs game plan. If he goes full-on round mound of rebound we might be pretty good. -

The reason I brought up Barkley was because that's who shamiels game resembles ... to me anyway. -

Size isn't everything on rebounding. See: Barkley, sir Charles. Well, he had size. Just not upward. -
It has happened before.

There's a legit title shot ...

Andy Katz ranks the Big Ten in 2020-21 preseason
kleitus replied to AuroranHusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
We are better. I have no issue with the national media wanting us to prove how much. I still think we are better than 14th. Maybe not top half but improved. -
Met that guy outside a holiday inn in rochester mn once... he was doing something for charity.
-
The good teams will share the love a lot. I mean come on... amart gets a block to help him sneak into the endzone against Ohio state from a 3rd team wr.... you think guys won't help each other out? This will REALLY help successful women's teams out. I mean we all know why hot women do well in social media. But now they'll stop having handcuffs on their earnings too and this could have long term earnings potential as well because Nebraska fans remember. Pick a hot volleyball player in nebraska. I know the answer is "most, if not all of them" but one or two a year are generally a step up (not trying to objectify them, this is just objective reality). Those girls could pay for all their incidentals -- minimum -- every year if they are comfortable with the scrutiny and that's a huge deal. And once again, there will be a team aspect here too. Would I be comfortable with that level of objectification of my daughter as a parent? Probably not but it would happen anyway they might as well get paid for it.

Keeping up with the offers/visits

That rochester mn area has had some serious talent lately. -
One game? Red. 7 games? No idea. Depends on how good banton really is. The problem is we just don't know much top to bottom here.
-
Definitely could have something to do with sallis... but I highly doubt he would waste his time if arop wasn't growing by leaps and bounds into his talent.
-
Think sit-out non transfer. Hoiberg likes the guys who sit out a year. The question is where his game is going, not necessarily where it is at.
-
Glue teammates can sometimes learn to shoot as well... think about ozzie smith in baseball -- always had the athletic ability and defense, learned to hit. It's possible he made big enough of a jump forward with his athleticism that hoiberg wants to keep him around. So many people want us to develop young talent but are shocked when it seems to be happening (if Hoiberg is not pursuing guys like that, you know it probably is).
-
If he makes the open 3 at a 40% clip he's an asset. Because he will get open looks. Anything else is gravy.
-
And early in a turnaround that's how it probably should be. If we do this next year and there isnt some outlying reason like banton going pro and some injuries then we've got issues.
