  5. Peyton Banks of Penn State and Nigel Johnson of Rutgers both grad transferring. Both contributors to a few Big 10 teams this year.

  7. Think it is more about role than pure playing time too. I think most players (stress most) probably understand where they stand as freshmen in regards to status against upper classmen. Knowing that you will play 12 minutes a night in a specific role I think is easier to take than averaging 15 minutes a night but seeing your time shoot up and down at any given time for no apparent reason (especially when the teams performance is sporatic). That being said....also think we want guys that expect to play. Probably means they are competitive and have some talent behind their game. Be a bit worried if a guy was coming in to expecting to redshirt on a below average team.
  8. This is my issue with this argument. First off...Copeland has produced exactly zero here thus far. Now...I think his ceiling if healthy is off the charts and is an NBA caliber prospect, but also think it is fair to wait to see what happens with him. Second....we don't know what other dominoes would have fallen in the meantime. Maybe with added depth Fuller would have transferred sooner. Maybe we don't take Horne, who transfers out after a year. Maybe we would have been more selective and not given Evelyn a spot two years ago. Or maybe Palmer is the odd one out. Maybe with the added depth last year in the frontcourt we win an extra game or two and White feels better about our chances to dance and stays. Blah blah blah. Point is we don't know how things would've come out. Would I take Roby or Copeland over him..absolutely. And in no way am I saying that we made a mistake with him. I agree with you in that I don't think he's a dynamic player. Just saying I don't get the dodged the bullet comment considering our depth issues the last two years and would have most certainly preferred him over a Fuller. Maybe I just struggle with the better off without approach over said player when we are sitting here with the success we've had.
  9. How so? Not clamoring for him or saying he's an all star or that we made a mistake on him but don't get how we dodged a bullet. The guy averaged 12 mpg for a top 10 team. Think it's safe to say he would have saw time here. Especially considering our front court depth issues over the last two years.
  10. He was committed here for a long while
  11. Corey Sanders from Rutgers turning pro
  12. I think this is it. They know it is do or die time and see the obvious need. Can't afford to come up empty
  13. My thoughts exactly. Have decent players, but don't see them fitting this scheme
  14. Seems accurate
  15. I dont see the athletes yet from top to bottom
  16. Again...not advocating taking rapists here. And Im not so concerned about some sketchy character guys. Most teams that win have some of those guys. Key is finding balance.
  17. On a team that struggled to score, while losing its best scorer....I'd say it's a pretty big thing to think about.
  18. Especially when you aren't a duke, Kansas or Kentucky
  19. A. What's that have to do with this. B. Not advocating taking a rapist C. Last I checked, his on the field stuff panned out.
  20. Because you need to win now and in order to do that, you need talent, especially at the position he plays. He's proven to be a productive player. White was a stain too...don't tell me that we were better off without him this year.
  21. I agree that we likely aren't going to get him. Just saying that it'd be a mistake to turn that production away in our situation for fear he is a locker room cancer.
  22. IMO...I think there's little risk at this point. It's basically do or die time. Take the talent.
  23. Good point...you could bring him in and go 12-19 or something. Not sure we are in any position to be turning down (assuming he'd even be interested in us) 19 PPG scorers. Especially at a position where we just lost our best player and is the weak link on the team right now.
  24. A talented guard at a position of need?
  25. New Mexico G Elijah Brown (ave 18.8 ppg) transferring and eligible immediately. Hopefully Chris can steer him our way.
