SEC is a bad hoops conference. Kentucky and Florida just bail them out in the NCAA tournament. Occasionally there might be a 3rd team that does something but usually they are incredibly underwhelming outside of the two big fish. Committee usually has a conference every year that they over value that falls flat on their face. Two years ago, it was the Big East. Last year, the Pac 12. We'll see if the trend continues. But some of these seedings were very random.

Huerter or not...we need to be able to plug and play and get a major contribution out of a frosh. We've struggled with that. Last year the 4 frosh played out of necessity. To a certain extent, Roby and Horne as well. And they each struggled at times as there was no real defined role.

Im guessing where he is going with that is that Miles was the one who lined it up and not that he was dealt a bad hand by it, because it was his responsibility. While it was admirable we took on that slate, it shouldn't be used as the scape goat in lieu of wins either.

Not writing him in as a starter. Just an x factor because of the supposed skill he poses seperates him from the rest of the team

Taylor isn't a good shooter. If he sniffs 40%, it's because he goes 2-5 on the year only taking some wideopen shots in the noncon. Agree on McVeigh. Problem is...the coaches don't have a crystal ball so clearly they can't rely on McVeigh. Don't know which version you will get of him. I like Horne...but he'll struggle to play the 3 consistently, let alone the 2. This all circles back to my point of Nana being the X-factor. We need a shooter at the 2.

I think we're in trouble anyways. But the guys is blowing up in Chicago. That gives me hope he can compete. Palmer could also fill that role. If were relying on Taylor and McVeigh....it's not going to end well

I'd put 1990-1998 in there. One big What If. The amount of talent some of those squads had to never win a tournament game and to just not even make the dance some years is amazing

I dont have as much of an issue with Dirk as most do. He's not popular. But he's usually right. People don't like him because its just not what they want to hear. That doesnt make him wrong. I do think he's off here. We have more talent than our record indicates and have more tools coming in

Taylor's ceiing isn't very high. I think it's laughable that he scoffs at Jake and Morrow though. I don't think either one of those guys is going to be future first team all conference or NBA draft pick...but both of those guys are legit BIg 10 players. Not superstars. But legit players

Hate to say it....IMO....Nana is the deciding factor. And I dont mean that we need him to put up 20 a night. But we need the depth at guard and we need a shooter. That's apparently his MO. If he can come out and shoot 38-40% from the arc and get us 8ppg....he'd add a lot to this roster. I like the rest of the returning pieces (sans Fuller) but we need that shooter in the back court. We know its not Taylor. Im not optimistic that it can be Gill consistently. Dont know enough about Palmer. We need to catch lightning in a bottle with this freshmen and hope he's ready to go right away.

Agreed. It's the deepest group of guys we've had in 20 years. While some are flawed, each of them bring something to the table. There's not a bum in the group....which is something we've never really been able to say.

Think it's going to take an unrealistically favorable year to get attention from schools that would be deemed better jobs. Tough to see him leaving for year 7 voluntarily

Yep. I'd like everyone save Fuller to come back, but mcveigh would be next on my list. Doesn't offer a lot of the intangibles and is way to inconsistent at his 'specialty'

He's has multiple bad stretches each year. He had a good stretch, but that hasnt been the norm. He's been bad far more then he's been good. He was 15-49 since February. It's more than just that one stretch

Find a shooter in the 5th year market somehow. Get them on the floor. Defend the perimieter. Especially now that you have the size down low
