  1. Neither answer is black or white/yes or no. Does it constitute an official pulling of the offer? No. But it certainly doesn't look good and some people can perceive it as such, because you are amending the offer to the extent it's not actionable now. As far as the scholarship numbers go....you never want to take a guy for the sake of taking one. But at the same time....you always want to strive to be full at the end of the signing period. Attrition can and will happen.
  2. Below...but I think we'll get close. I see football as a 8-9 win team this year and the basketball team as a 14-16 win team
  3. My question is outside of Bruce Chubbick Sr and certain media, are the people directly involved with this truly upset/angered at Miles for this or more just disappointed? Is Arop himself pissed off at Miles or is he more upset/disappointed with the circumstances? They're pissed. Really pissed. The Omaha AAU community is pissed, Chubick and HS coaches are pissed and the Sudanese community is really pissed. How often do you think Chauncy Billips goes on local talk shows? As Benning said yesterday (and his kid is in the AAU scene, so he would know), "Miles may never recover (in terms of recruiting) from the Omaha metro over this." Chubick, who obviously has long ties to the Nebraska program, said all "bridges have been burned" as far as he is concerned.Ok so they're pissed. Pissed off an entire city which may produce a legit P5 talent once a decade. I think at this point Miles realizes he has to make it without Omaha or not make it at all. Arop wasn't some program changer that was going to carry us over the top. I'm not sure Miles cares or can afford to care that he pissed off the Omaha bball scene. His staffs recruiting has made major headway in other much more talent rich cities such as Chicago. A perceived bad PR move in Bluejayland isn't going to lose him the job, but not winning will. Bottom line, Arop being on the squad next year wasn't going to help him win but another stud recruit may. There are two kids from Omaha at Creighton and one playing at Georgetown with a fourth currently playing at Papio and a fifth playing at Boystown. Ok so Agau had his chance here. Twice. I won't talk about the Creighton guys. And I did say 'legit P5 talent'. Khryi Thomas and Justin Patton are both legit P5 talents.
  4. It's obviously not ideal PR.....but it's really nothing in the grand scheme. Miles job depends on winning basketball games this year and possibly next....not what Chubbick thinks of him
  5. The two have nothing to do with each other. Total coincidence
  6. Was just about to mention this. turner needs to pan out
  7. Only read posts from one person here who thought it was a Miles and staff issue. Like it was stated there were only a couple on here, but in general in you ever go on to other boards, there were quite a few that arent well versed on the day to day of things like we are here that had their pitchforks ready to go. I think we tend to be a little more educated over here, at times, but just making more of a blanket statement as time goes on. Either way, both camps come out losers in this situation IMO. We are not a better team without AWIII, and it's highly unlikely AWIII is going to find what he's looking for. He's either going to end up at a place like Cuse where his production will go down or end up at a place like Richmond where he will probably put up similar stats to last year. But, in a league and on a team that doesn't get much press or air time. We will never know what really happened as Miles and the staff have moved on. Agreed.
  8. Allen and Horne are 2 completely different players playing two different positions. Horne is a PF. Allen is a Guard. rivals has both players listed at 6'6 220 pounds. they both can shoot the 3 and play inside. i wouldn't say they are completely different players. They aren't the same and rivals isn't accurate can you be more specific? they both look like they're about 6'6 220. allen might be a little more perimeter oriented than horne, but overall they do a lot of the same things from what i can tell. Horne is 6'7" and has been listed as much as 245. He's also plays in the front court. Just because he can hit a 3 doesn't mean he's a guard or wing. And I'm pretty sure Allen measured 6'5" at the most recent camp he was at

  10. Let's atleast let kid play some games for us before we write him off as a waste of a scholarship. i haven't written him off, but the only reason he is on the team is because white left. Miles has even said this. From what I read, Miles said ET was on their radar before AW3 announced his decision to transfer. On the radar does not equal a take
  11. Young man has an offer from Iowa State and Cincinnati. Are we better than those programs? However, I also never look at scholarship distribution charts so I have no idea if we have room. But we also lose a hundred guys a year so I never worry about it. Well with taking Turner...it complicates things. We're likely going to have to pass up a pretty good guard/wing because we took him
  12. Nate Johnson is another
  13. Petteway
  14. It's more complete. But do we have a petteway who can put us on his back
  15. Even more so than that...not even in the next 10 either. Have a hard time seeing Roby or Tshimanga not a part of the top 25 freshmen in the conference
  16. Terrible
  17. We wont get that many. We already have Agau. And I don't see more than 3 more spots opening up this fall
  18. Of course everyone has off nights. But supposedly for our best player who is a 4 year starter and all Big 10 honoree....it happened more than you'd like it too.
  19. Agreed with kldm. Shavon is/was a very good player for us. But he had some real stinkers for us. Creighton, of course. He had a handful of games at the beginning of the Big 10 were he wasn't very good. Most remember him coming back strong after the injuries with some real good games against Penn State and Purdue and the conference tourney....but there were some real winnable games early on in the conference play where he was off.
  20. Some of the points CWG mentioned is why I am still optimistic for this year. I'd feel better if White was still here....but I still think we can be competitive. Mostly because we now have a complete lineup. Miles has even spoke about it in the past, about having empty minutes. In the past, we had times where we would have 1,2 or even 3 guys on the floor who were simply no threat to score. Teams left Parker practically unguarded at times and we couldn't make them pay for it. We'll, for the first time, be putting a lineup on the floor where all 5 guys have the ability to produce. We may not have the definitive go to guy to show for it right now...but we'll have 5 guys instead of 3 that can do something. That takes a lot of pressure off.
  21. Considering he had what....7-8 scholarship guys his first year...and two of them were true frosh (one of which missed most of the non-con) and another was coming off a redshirt after unproductive freshmen and sophomore seasons...I think it's fair to acknowledge that's less than ideal. Talley was solid. Ubel had a solid senior season. Gallegos developed. But that team was pretty thin. Winning 15 games and staying competitive that year may have been as big an accomplishment as the NCAA the next. Also think that the shape of the roster he inherited had an impact on how he was going to build the roster over the first several years here. Had he had more talent in the ranks, he may not have taken a chance on so many transfers early on.
  22. I like Miles and I think everyone here remembers my feelings on Sadler and Collier. But I don't think it is unfair to compare the three after 4 years. I think it needs to account for several factors when it's done...but I think the comparison is fair. Miles has built up a lot of good will with the NCAA run and the increase of talent on paper. He inherited a mess from Sadler, has attempted to actually play some teams in the non-con, and has been in the Big 10 full time (unlike the others). But has also had the new arena and practice facility as well. At some point in time...it does come down to wins and losses. I don't think we are at that point yet....but it's getting close. That talent has to translate.
  23. Pretty sure Nova and Clemson aren't necessarily coming here. Wasn't Nova the Gavitt Tip-Off Classic and Clemson as part of the ACC/Big 10Yes but I'm under the assumption that they always have a return game, not sure about the Gavitt Tip off since that is new, but atleast in the ACC/Big Ten. No guarantee of a return game
