If you are talking about Patton from North (going to Creighton) he is a Senior. Strom is a Sophomore from Norfolk.

Great point about Tarin learning to play both slow and fast. I really feel the recruiting period leans way to much toward AAU and not enough toward the high school experience.

I have my tickets! Check Hawaiian airlines and Diamond Head Classic websites. I ended up calling Pleasant Holidays which is on both websites I believe. You pick your flight and type of room you want at the Outrigger Hotel on Waikiki Beach. The package includes airfare, 5 nights stay, transportation to and from the airport and to and from all the games, tickets to the games and some other small perks.

Coach McDermott is a very good guy and I think a very good coach. He did struggle at Iowa State but he also had some bad luck with injuries (especially to his big guys) and he did have a couple good players transfer out. One went on to be the player of the year in the Big East so I don't think he was all that far from getting it done there. (and no I'm not a Jaysker or a Creighton fan, but I do know and like Coach McDermott)

Logan Strom (and his parents) had an informal sit down with Coach Miles on Saturday.

I agree that Akoy did step up in the big games and his stats are a bit misleading but you also have to say that Central was slowed down at times and for having arguably the most talented team in state bb history they did not totally dominate the state like some think. Granted they did at state but before that they had a number of close games and even a couple losses to Nebraska teams.

Coach Miles will often invite potential in state D-1 players to make informal visits or workouts just in case a situation like Patton's takes place where a kid suddenly explodes. There is another in Arop's class that I'm sure he has his eye on.

Good point HB. Defense is where we improved the most last year. We went from being a pretty poor defensive team to a very good one. Strange how we were able to do it when the schedule got tougher.

Looks to be a strong class. The Bison Gold (15 yr olds) also made a strong showing winning the Minneapolis tournament and made the final 4 of the Vegas Finals tournament.

I'm surprised they have us playing Hawaii first round. We have to be one of the better teams in the tournament and you would think they would want the host team to advance. Not saying they can't beat us but there are other teams that seem to be a better draw for Hawaii.

RIngo would be fun, but I doubt I will get to that one. In less than 10 months the Huskers make the NCAA' s, my Pirates advance in the MLB playoffs and I got to see Paul (my favorite artist) in concert. Pretty good year!
