Players get drafted into the NBA and paid by a franchise, but their employer is still the NBA and their employment is subject to terms of the CBA between the NBA and NBPA. He can go to any team, even if he refused to work out for them. Also, Ayton and CP3 are no longer in Phoenix.

I was talking about this the other day with my wife who is a bigger NBA fan than college basketball fan. If you’re a team like the Spurs or Trailblazers with multiple early picks, why wouldn’t you use a mid second round pick on Bronny and get more back in a trade than the pick you just spent? You know he’s only trying to get to wherever his dad is.

I understand this. I also don’t consider anything said on here a shot at him because he’s not here. Feels an appropriate place to vent frustrations about things like this rather than directly at him on social media or elsewhere.

Isn't your stance on players getting paid and bouncing from school to school for better paychecks almost the opposite of this? I think as a former Husker, fans had higher expectations for how his tenure would go than it did. Less than three years here, leaving with a giant stadium project falling apart and friction created between the athletic department and just about every relevant body tangential to it.

This reminds me of one of Hunter S. Thompsons articles he wrote for ESPN.com back in the early 00’s. His suggestions for improving baseball: allow steroids, eliminate the pitcher and have a machine pump 100mph fastballs down the pipe and let everyone tee off.
