  1. Johnny Trueblood was a dude, out of nowhere.
  2. Nebraska has 11 transfers from other Div. 1 college basketball programs, and that number doesn't include Justin Bolis (transferring from SE CC). And the 17 players (incl. walk-ons) on the roster hail from 10 different states and 3 different countries.
  3. Yeah, suppose so. And that's why I mentioned to get programs in bigger markets that actually care about college athletics. I figured Memphis and Tulane were the 'next' programs to ascend to a better conference overall. None of these latest conference changes lately have made a lot of sense as far as regional play. I still miss the Big 8, for heaven's sake!
  4. Yeah, true. The other 5 are tiny, since the average city size is only 47k.
  5. Well, those two would be considerably bigger than any of the other 6, lol.
  6. Good sweep last night against #14 ASU. Next up is Wichita St. this afternoon. Then the Big Red have a battle against #2 Stanford at home on Tues., followed by facing #4 Louisville on the road next Sunday on national TV.
  7. Charlie Easley has been rehabbing a foot surgery, he wants to give it a go at pro ball overseas. https://www.ketv.com/article/nebraska-basketball-player-rehabs-before-playing-professionally-overseas/62195670
  8. Good for the new Pac-6, they do still need to try to get some schools in bigger markets as long as they truly care about college athletics. I think that's as helpful as anything. At least 2 schools to be "back" in the mix. Maybe go for Memphis & Tulane, since time zones don't seem to matter any more, anyway.
  9. Thank goodness NU pulled this one out in the 5th set. It had nearly been a sweep. Great win. Friday's opponent, ASU, is ranked 14th. GBR.
  10. I can respect that perspective.
  11. Grew up a huge Husker fan in the heartland of Nebraska. I'm glad he could have one over on Derrick White that night. I personally do not fully understand the eternal disdain for B.S. I didn't like the fact he chose CU, but considering Hoiberg was horrendous in those first 3 seasons, so Baylor made a business decision, and worked his butt off to become a 1st round NBA draft pick. He's still a favorite son in the central part of the state of Nebraska. And he rooted 'GBR' even on game day, it's not like he's a traitor like some seem to think. IDK, man, it's petty to not appreciate the work he put in to get where he's at. I can't stand the Boston Celtics, but I'll still root for B.S. to make his way in the league. It's complicated, lol.
  12. A kid from Gothenburg. Dude transformed himself. Tanner Borchardt. I think he had a game in his final season with 20 rebounds, as I recall. For that 2018-19 season, I think he had more offensive rebounds than defensive rebounds. By the way, he tried out for the team as a FROSH, basically left the program after that year, then was coaxed back in February of his SOPH season, and T.B. eventually made an impact on a fairly good roster overall. I loved that guy's story of resilience and persistence for the Big Red: a 6'-8" 250# power forward who wore #20. He probably deserved another season, huh?
  13. Noticed the new number for Britt Prince, she wore #2 at Elkhorn North, and now she's donning #23 (a la Kelsey Griffin). Hopefully Britt's as impactful as Kelsey in the long run.
  14. Wan of a kind
  15. The Wan and Only.
  16. I thought that setup was in Indiana, not Nebraska. Who really knows...
  17. No alternate jerseys for the Husker football team this season, but adidas did a throwback for #45 Frank Solich that will be available for purchase on Saturday, at the Nebraska-Colorado game as Solich will be honored on 9/7 for making the College Football Hall of Fame in 2024.
  18. NU got swept at SMU last night in Dallas. First time Nebraska had been swept by an unranked opponent in 10 years.
  19. Good news to have NU playing out west as much as possible. That should help our squad in the long run.
  20. I thought I'd already posted this, well, here it is in the "Keisei Watch" thread.
