  1. Hope the boys playing for Bolt have a good year. It's been a lot of fun lately to watch NU men's teams that are (generally) winning a bunch of home games.
  2. Yeah, and the B1G did NU no favors with MSU, Indiana, and UCLA right out of the gate to start the conference slate!
  3. Nebraska had 4 guys, primarily bench players, who were able to shoot 8 for 10 from the field, while the other 5 guys (with 4 starters) shot 9 for 42. And won by 8 over the #15 team in the nation. That's incredible.
  4. Nebraska should thank PSU for shooting so poorly in the 1st quarter, because the remainder of the game PSU shot 21 for 42. It was a "Jekyll and Hyde" ballgame as far as offense for NU, but they had just enough offense to finish off PSU. I really like Britt Prince in that pick and pop scenario. If she's more aggressive today in certain spots, then that run by PSU wouldn't have tied it up. I'm just glad that the Huskers didn't blow it, because it was looking dicey there for a bit. Weidner steadied the ship with her late 4 points, which were much needed. Happy for her, she's a warrior.
  5. Allison finally made a bucket, then later she was able to swish 2 FTs to ice it. I'm glad she got it done, she had been struggling on her layups for most of the game.
  6. Other quotes provided by huskers.com: UCLA Head Coach Mick Cronin Opening Statement “We didn’t play well enough to win against a good team on the road. That’s really all I have to say.” On playing without Eric Dailey Jr. “We still fought. I don’t like that stuff, it’s five on five. It’s not the power play. You don’t have to play a man down. We’re missing two guys but it’s not the power play. We’ve got to deal. We got guys on scholarship that are good enough players. You can’t go 4-28 (from 3) and have any chance to win against a team that stands people in the paint and dares you to shoot. That’s pretty much the game in a nutshell.” On the ball movement being an issue “No, we got to make some shots. Dylan Andrews has got to play way better. Dominick Harris and Trent Perry got opportunities today. They played a combined 17 minutes, neither one of them scored. I told them they were going to get an opportunity with Eric (Dailey Jr.) out. They played 17 minutes and didn’t get a basket.”
  7. The turnaround by Hoiberg is remarkable. Simply astounding, tbh.
  8. Let's go & beat Iowa in Iowa City, that's what is on my mind at the moment. GBR
  9. NU is 2-2 in Q1 games NU is 2-0 in Q2 games NU is 2-0 in Q3 games NU is 6-0 in Q4 games
  10. That had to be a fun win for Berke and the boys over the Bruins. GBR
  11. Yes, I was pleasantly surprised that Essegian was a +24 in the aftermath of that game and he didn't even make a shot from the field. He and Sam both played well together on the defensive end of the court, I would have been shocked to have said that very thing before the ballgame. Connor has expanded his game to the defense, and NU is better off long-term with Sam's influence on Connor.
  12. Nebraska's final 13 points were from the FT line. Juwan made the last shot from the field with 7:15 remaining. That was a dogfight the entire game, glad NU had the dogs to take the fight to UCLA. That kind of struggle will win in March Madness if the team can get there. GBR
  13. Draining 30 seconds on those two possessions left UCLA a very small window to make a full comeback, it wasn't the worst idea. I'd prefer to have a shot going toward the rim, but the refs might let UCLA mug us again. You know what I mean?!
  14. Husker Nation, you’ve done it again! Nebraska Men’s Basketball vs UCLA is sold out
  15. A lefty Jokic would be fun to see his game progress to anywhere near that level in Lincoln.
