  1. Xavier was a 2018 recruit. He decommitted after Kenya Hunter left.
  2. Isaac Humphries is also a guy we recruited when Harriman was here.
  3. Diaw was a very good finisher inside. But he was one of the original point forwards and he actually played point guard for a couple seasons in Phoenix whenever Nash was on the bench. He was an excellent passer. He averaged 4 rebounds and less than a block a game for his career. When he was drafted he was 6’9”, barely 200 lbs. and was considered a guard.
  4. These prep schools that recruit obviously have talented players, but they are not enjoyable to watch. Everyone “runs” the stand around and watch James Harden offense. These kids don’t have to work on defense whatsoever. I’m looking for a player who is sweating and I seriously can’t find one. Not one player even looks tired. In my area (and I assume most others), every high school team either runs set plays on every possession, some form of a motion, or a secondary break that flows into one of the two. So, every player constantly has a purpose and job on offense. There’s non-stop movement, so defenders are constantly having to move and work as well.
  5. Teddy played for Bob Huggins for a year, was coached by Greg Marshall for a year while he redshirted and is now being coached by Doc Sadler. We’re talking three of the better defensive minded coaches in the game. Doc had several juco players who were great defenders at this level. I’m not giving Teddy the juco bad habits excuse. He’s aware of how to play solid defense.
  6. Looks like a young Boris Diaw
  7. I thought he looked stronger, as well. He had said that he didn’t start lifting weights until last year.
  8. Had 23 pts against the #1 team in the country yesterday.
  9. That's one thing I love about college basketball recruiting. Every year you'll see some random schools (like Nebraska) with an elite signee.
  10. Honestly, no. Off the top of my head, for just this year, Arizona State has Josh Christopher (5 star and future first round pick), and they're below .500. I'll fact check this later, but I'd guess every year there are multiple teams with 5 star recruits who don't make the tournament. Edit: Last year, Washington had three 5-stars on their team and went below .500
  11. All the time. Probably every single year. Not only were Markelle Fultz, Ben Simmons and Anthony Edwards 5 star recruits, but they were the #1 overall picks in the NBA draft and their teams didn't make the tournament. In basketball, unlike football, 5 stars don't all go to blue blood programs.
  12. Jumped 9 spots to #123 in Rivals updated rankings.
  13. Rivals updated their 2021 rankings today. Bryce jumped 4 spots to #19. Their final rankings come out in April.
  14. His ability exceeded my expectations and that makes me more optimistic for the future. We could potentially have him for two more years (this year doesn’t count for eligibility right?). A solid post player like him with the McGowens brothers, Dalano and more shooters and we’ll be on the right track.
  15. - That's a mediocre Indiana team. They have one of the worst offenses in the conference, didn't really shoot the lights out tonight, but still scored 84 points. Our defense has been very poor the last few games. Lat, Teddy and Dalano can't stay in front of people. That's an issue to have them all on the court together. Even Trey didn't have a very good defensive game today. - 16 assists for us. Trey and Dalano did a good job of creating for teammates - 13 assists combined for them. Derrick alone will make other players' numbers look better. - Shon Morris can't stand Teddy Allen. Shon's an old school basketball guy. My high school coach would have no patience with Teddy either. - Derrick reminds me of a Doc Sadler player. Thinking of guys like Brandon Ubel, Brandon Richardson, Charles Richardson. Undersized, not super athletic, not great shooters. But you never have to worry about their discipline, effort or defense and they play smart. Derrick's patience, control and selflessness are much needed on this team. We need more guys like this. - Missed blockouts continue to kill our chances to win games.
  16. He deserves more minutes. His PER is 6th on the team.
  17. PBA would be going absolute bonkers right now.
  18. It sure seems like we miss more block outs than any other team. If Dalano had some dog in him, he’d average 10+ rebounds a game. A lot of times, he’s in the right spot at the right time. Just doesn’t come up with the ball. When Trey drives and searches for a foul, rather than trying to put the ball in the hoop, good things don’t usually happen.
  19. A positive: 8 assists on 12 made field goals. Much better than the previous several games.
  20. Most of their threes have been in rhythm, as a result of our complete inability to stop dribble penetration. Much like the Michigan State game.
  21. Just so unpolished in so many ways. Indiana has traveled twice. No call. Good sign that Teddy made that pass out of the PNR. Means he trusts Derrick. I don’t think he’s made that pass to Yvan yet this year.
  22. You're right. I was looking at his espn profile, which apparently hasn't updated with his official measurement. That's annoying.
  23. Not to keep arguing, but Gasol is bigger than Garza. Gasol’s official height is 7’1” and he has a 7’4” wingspan (before two years ago, NBA teams didn’t have to list official measurements, which was stupid. That’s why guys like Dwight Howard all of a sudden shrunk 3 inches). Iowa lists Garza at 6’11”, which means he’ll likely measure in at 6’10” or less at the combine. Garza is 10 pounds heavier than Gasol, but Gasol has thinned down since he got to Toronto (and now LA). He was much bigger in his prime.
  24. Washut says Derrick is starting tonight. Seems like Yvan is the one who tested positive.
  25. Gasol is one of the best defensive big men in the last 20 years. Also one of the best passing bigs probably ever. Garza doesn’t have either of those traits.
