  1. We are swinging and missing quite a bit. I am anxiously awaiting a home run.
  2. Hmm, is it really significant Big Ten news? I suppose it is; but I would rather hear about a different Badger, one that would turn to the portal.
  3. I'm sure our sources are different; but I also heard he is a lean on returning. The young man certainly has options though, so we shall see.
  4. So, we watch hockey to see the fights...we watch NASCAR to see the crashes...we watch rastling for the artistic beauty of the stunts and now we watch Women's basketball for the gestures and fighting.
  5. No. But the length of a taunt is not as material to me, as the taunt itself. In this instance, Reece taunted a player that is notorious for taunting others. Perhaps Clark will learn that, with her talent, she doesn't need to draw attention by belittling other players. What did she gain by providing a brush off motion to the SC player? Was her intention to draw more attention to herself, or to belittle her opponent? I will say it again, all smack talk, all trash talking, all dismissive gestures should be eliminated. Heck yes, celebrate a great shot or play; but it can be done without the trash...in my humble opinion.
  6. I will argue (gotta get a debate going) that what Clark did is worse. Shoot she has done it to various players and teams that did not instigate or demonstrate against her. She has strutted her talent around in an almost snobbish manner. She backed her actions with success on the court. But not only did she beat the players on the court she seemed to relish belittling them as well. She was a classic bully. I am not privy to conversations that occurred between the two players in the championship game; but I heard earfulls from Clark and Leah Brown this year. I am telling you, they were surprisingly bad. I do not condone trash talking on the floor. It has no place in the game of basketball or any other place in society. There was a time where you respected your opponent. You fought for the win; but you won it with your talent/skill, not words and boorish behavior.
  7. I read a West Virginia slanted article regarding their recruitment of this kid. They seemed to think they have him locked up. Perhaps they are right. They indicated that the only competition is Nebraska, who is in diar need of a point guard. What caught my eye in a bemused way was their take that the huskers shouldn't be a roadblock because West Virginia has the advantage of a better fan base and better facilities. Made me sort of go hmmm.
  8. Take the time to read "The Miracle of St. Anthony: A Season with Bob Hurley, etc" I am not going to say that it will change your mind, but it may. Personally, Bob Hurley is too much like Bob Knight; but part of that is the location of his school, and the "full time job" he worked along with his basketball coaching gig. He turned down a lot of lucrative opportunities to help the youth in that community,.
  9. Heard Duke is in the driver's seat.
  10. I guess I will stick this tidbit here. Bronny has landed at Penn State.
  11. Sighhh, here's the deal. I get it. I don't want to get it, but I do. We have never ever proven it on the basketball court. We have the facilities, we have the money, we have the conference and we have the fans; we just have never won. We arguably just lost three of our better players...four if Keisei leaves. One could even argue that our coaching staff remains on the hot seat. Sooo...hard to take, but is somewhat easy to understand.
  12. If it is straight, it is hittable. A good hitter can get the timing down
  13. Excellent!
  14. No, I don’t believe it is safe yet. That said, you would think any player would want their name in the pool sooner rather than later.
  15. Bronny is a pretty good player, but he ain't his daddy.
  16. ...or Jaz, Issy, Oleg, Blaise or Bando?
  17. No way! I would like to know who picked those six. My guess that if true, they were lucky a** guesses.
  18. I have sneaky suspicion that Trev does not appreciate our lack of success versus Creighton's success in basketball. I think Fred will have the necessary resources to get the job done...the question remains as to whether or not Fred is the right coach to lead us. He made good progress this past year; but this coming year will be the true litmus test.
  19. Yes. Sandhills Global.
  20. Hmm, I didn't think the coaches could be involved in NIL deals?
  21. ..I think it is a hunting lodge and is actually called Star Bucks.
  22. As an aside, I was at a FFA event last night and during a lull in activity the kids started a chant. Now remember, these are farm kids from all over this fine state. Any guesses as to what that chant was? And no, it had nothing to do with that college in Omaha.
  23. Today's world is upside down. A few years ago I was anti-transfer. Then Petteway, Copeland, Palmer and many others changed my mind. Players simply are free to seek greener pastures. Those pastures are different for each kid. So it seems rare for a kid to stick with a program unless he is a stud. So when recruiting incoming freshmen, it seems that you are only renting them for a year or two, unless you get those home run recruits. Soo, can we get the Lawrence's of this world or are we destined to recruit the Oleg's and Dawson's? Portal transfers on the other hand seems much less of a crapshoot. Sure one can argue that players like Mack and Verge were sort of busts. But we knew what we were getting but didn't pay attention to the warts. I guess what I am saying is that I am fine with freshmen or transfers. They simply need to fit. There has to be a balance between talent and character, if that makes since.
